Title:Principal / Lead, Data Science – Social Media Analytics (IC Role)

About the role:
The Principal in the Social Media Analytics team will help in generating actionable insights for driving the creation of fact-based research from social media and other Gartner owned content streams. At the core we are looking for a person who is adaptable & agile, can multi-task at ease, passionate about learning new technologies, understand the text analytics ecosystem, can dig into rows of unstructured data to draw recommendations & insights, and use creative ways to visualize & interpret analytics output for research. This person will have a flair of innovation along with a strong exposure to Python, data science and the analysis of unstructured data. They would be working closely with various stakeholders to explore opportunities to optimize data mining techniques and improve the accuracy of insights generated, with an additional responsibility of guiding & mentoring junior associates on high-impact projects. The person is expected to be hands-on with the creation and implementation of Deep Learning models and deploy them to solve native text problems, generating actionable business insights in process

What you will do:

• Analyze unstructured social media / text data to find insights and patterns, using advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques

• Interpret the patterns & insights in-line with the core research objective and draw recommendations that would be used by Gartner clients

• Create innovative visualizations to represent the insights and create content around its usage in research

• Solve most pressing business challenges with data science, ML, NLP, Deep Learning in the center

• Interact with internal & external stakeholders to improvise on the findings

• Work as part of a team in an extremely fast paced work environment with strict SLA’s and fast turnaround time (week or two at maximum)

• Be responsible for owning & independently driving data science driven initiatives with some guidance

• Develop strong understanding of Tech. industry and demonstrate expertise in deep learning domain

• Multi-task and be agile to handle different projects and engagements at the same time

• Guide and Coach Specialists on finer aspects of coding, algorithms, threading and efficiency

What you will need:

• Graduate/post-graduate degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science or Graduate + MBA (Analytics) from leading A or B-schools

• 6-10 years’ of industry experience with 5+ years of hands-on AI or ML system development experience on real-world industry problems, with focus on Text Mining and Natural Language Processing

• Expertise in design and development of Machine Learning & Deep Learning based solutions for tasks like – Classification, Named Entity Recognition, Topic Modelling, Information Extraction, Sentiment Analysis etc.

• Subject Matter Expert on Python & Text Analytics (i.e. Pandas, Numpy, scikit-learn, etc), amongst other data science techniques, and experience of working with GitHub

• Solid hands-on experience in training deep convolutional and/or recurrent networks using frameworks like Tensorflow, Keras, Caffe and PyTorch, with the understanding of Transformers architectures

• Ability to apply various analytical models to business use cases (NLP, Supervised, Un-Supervised, Neural Nets, etc.)

• Must have a strong background in visualization: PowerPoint, PowerBI & Tableau etc.

• Analytical bent of mind with the ability to analyze data, identify patterns from unstructured data sets and to draw useful insights / recommendations from them.

• Demonstrated ability to translate qualitative and quantitative analysis into actionable business strategies

• Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to think independently. Able to work on estimation problems and provide insightful analysis.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills: Should structure all communication for meaning and flow with strong command on English language.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of business, data science and technical stakeholders

• Outstanding project management skills (projects involving internal and external stakeholders) with ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workloads and own outcomes

• Experience in mentoring & guiding junior associates in Data Science & Data Interpretation
