Sephora Digital’s Technology team builds products that power our business across South East Asia & Oceania. We are looking for an Engineer to join a small team (we call it a squad), “Omni & In-store Digital” squad, which is responsible for building products that impacts how we as a company, including our store staff, interact with our customers, both in-store and on our website/apps. Some examples of the squad’s deliverables are: Endless Aisle, Online Reservations, BA APP (an APP for our store staff) to name a few with an exciting and ambitious roadmap that lies ahead. This is a new position in the team as we increase our capacity to deliver our ambitious roadmap.


Responsibilities:


You will be designing services, building clean, highly scalable systems and maintain our technical products as the company grows and scales. You make it possible for us to deliver an engaging customer experience to our many fans via our online store - website/apps and our staff in stores. Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will work on highly visible, well-resourced projects and build products which directly impact our revenue and customer satisfaction - two of our key metrics for success. You will be delivering our customers an omnichannel, cross country and personalized experiences on both our online and retail stores.


And as part of the company’s vision, work towards the goal of providing our customers with a seamless omnichannel experience.


Requirements:


  • Min 4 years of experience in Java
  • Proficient with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Node js, CSS and Git
  • Familiarity with build tools such as Maven, and Gradle
  • Good understanding of REST and SOAP APIs
  • Willing to learn other technologies like Ruby on Rails and Vue.js. Any prior experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience with AWS and Angular is desired but not an absolute requirement
  • You are passionate about leveraging technology to solve problems and drive the business forward. Business impact of what you do matters to you equally as designing great engineered services
  • You are willing to be involved in end-to-end software development, including gathering of requirements and understanding of pain points from various stakeholders
  • You value core software engineering practices (i.e. Testing, Scalability, Clean code)
  • You are willing to work on the different parts of our technology stack
  • You enjoy constantly learning, independent, not afraid of making mistakes along the way and learning from them
  • You are a team player and willing to communicate with the other squad members (Product Manager, UI / UX Designer, Business Owner and most importantly fellow engineers locally and abroad) as well as other squads in the company


You probably have a computer science degree, but passion and demonstrated expertise are what we care about.
