1. ROLE / JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Product Engineer, with knowledge in PV product specifications, Certification requirements from external authorities (BIS specifically) and PV system design along with a field installation.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Product Certification preparation, strategy and alignment with internal and external stakeholders. He/She is also responsible for recommending Product specifications targeting domestic market.

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Development:Drive product development of next generation modules. Understand PV industry testing requirement and able to relate to development and testing of new products.

Product Benchmarking:Understand PV products in the market and be able to drive benchmarking exercise. Provide realistic feedbacks to Technology and Operations.

Product Certification: Stay on top of the Product Certification strategy (BIS). Align activities with both internal external stakeholders for the smooth certification process.

3. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist R&D and process, manufacturing teams with technical analyses, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
• Plan, coordinate and be ready to work hands-on in test labs to conduct experiments if required
• Able to articulate and present confidently to internal and external stakeholders whenever required

3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Technical / Professional:

· MSc in Engineering or related fields

· Min. 5 years relevant experience in Certification / Product Development / Field installation / Research background

Technological:

· Expertise in PV modules energy yield simulation (PVSyst is a must).

· Field experiences in system design and installation

· Knowledge in PV modules characterization and analysis.

Knowledge:

· Working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics manufacturing industries is an advantage

4. ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

Hands on experience in system designing and installation:Familiar with PV site installation, system sizing and understanding of actual field condition and constraints

Product Reliability Test Design:Familiar with PV industry IEC testing - e.g. Damp-heat, Temp Cycle, Humidity Freeze, Light induced degradation, thermal shock.

Failure Analysis:Leading FA from technical part. In-depth understanding of module process – structure – property relations, and the degradation mechanism in actual application

Programming: Knowledge in programming languages – Python, C+, Java, for data collection and analysis.
