Yield forecasting and planning is a complicated issue for the semiconductor industry. Yields are foundational inputs to many business processes; from supply chain S&OP planning and tactical supply/demand matching to financial accounting and capacity modeling. As a Yield Planning Data Specialist, you will be accountable for robust processes around yield planning and maintenance. Processes must gather yield data in such a manner as to serve all customer requirements that consume them. You will also be accountable for robust yield forecasts (data integrity and comprehensiveness) and maintaining yield data in such a manner as to serve all customer requirements that consume them. You will need to continually evolve yield models and processes as the business changes and define the needed inputs for the yield planning process. You will also aid in a Yield Transformation initiative within the Global Supply Chain (GCS) to revamp our current Yield Planning tool to meet the changing needs of S&OP and the Demand Driven Transformation.

Job Role -

• Perform design and development engineering assignments related to activities for equipment and systems layouts in plant, office, and production facilities.

• Work may encompass studies to determine the efficient sequence of operations and workflow.

• Recommend processes for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

• Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors.

• May participate in testing and implementation of new production systems and collaborate with research and development and process engineering to plan for future product introduction.

As a GSC Yield Planning Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure yields at the material level are consumable for GSC

• Build/maintain workspaces in Rapid Response Time Phased Data (RR TPD)

• The scope is both yield and byproduct planning

• The scope also includes ensuring appropriate master data (materials and attributes) are in SAP to enable attribute-based yield forecasting by Yield Owners

• Enable robust/comprehensive yield recommendations to SC business processes (S&OP/SPO) at needed cadence & granularity à integrate into MPUP and PPC processes

• Participate in Yield Transformation: help outline workflow, processes, controls around building new yields/new material groups/when updates are to be made/etc.

• Help establish Process for acquiring actual yields to be pulled into Yield Repository – What is the environment (HANA?), at what level, compare to what version, time horizon à i.e.. help Yield Planning team build a process around GSC-centric performance to plan

• Help establish analytics around yield (forecast) accuracy

• Understand business processes that consume yields

• Partner with Yield Planning team to drive process changes around inputs to RR TPD that enable improvements to the downstream GSC business processes

• Partner with GSC BPA group to apply standard processes/documentation/communication/training

• Partner with Yield Planning team to align yield owners to common definitions/baseline confidence levels

• Partner with Yield Planning team to align area owners to expected deliverables; act as a secondary point of contact for yield planning data for GSC (primary being Yield Planning team)
