We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist

The Opportunity:

  • Purpose of the job is to lead an engineering team to provide automated solutions of the various engineering offerings, led by example in delivering high-quality automated solutions that adhere best practices to SDLC: Code, review, prototyping, multiple-level testing.
  • Ensuring deliverables as per standards and quality in agreed schedule, review & documentation of processes, tasks as applicable.
  • Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders and other DevOps teams
  • Working with an Agile mentality, rapid delivery iterated with features and components through the solution development lifecycle

What you’ll do:

  • Subject Matter Expertise input to the requirements elaboration process, supporting Cross Functional Teams with data, technical and competitor insight and industry best practice.
  • Full participation in agile sprints (daily scrums, spring planning, reviews and retrospectives) through co-location with Scrum Master, Technical Lead, and clear articulation of product vision and direction.
  • Develop strong working relationships with market stakeholders across the globe to understand the local product, regulatory and competitive environment in order to design this into global requirements
  • Provide effective direction for other departments as assigned. Responsibilities to be determined may include areas relating to legal, support functions, and any other utility administration
  • To lead development of local initiatives underpinning any behavioral/ cultural/ leaderships changes required to support the sustainable delivery of change by authentically engaging a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver at pace
  • Encourage and enable productive teamwork and matrix working, by demonstrating a collaborative approach and challenging actions and behaviors that are not consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers
  • To undertake any ad hoc request as required
  • The Full Stack Engineering Job is responsible for providing thought leadership and working across the Technology
  • Delivery Lifecycle including inception, construction, testing, release and on-going management of a product or service in a pod within a technology team.
  • Will be required to continually enhance their skills within a number of specialisms which include front end, development, security, testing and operational support.
  • Will work within and across pods as needed to drive delivery and promote best practice by example. Contribute to architectural decisions within their domain and across functions.
  • This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
  • Provide technical leadership across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities typically being deployed to resolve the most challenging and/or impactful projects or deliveries
  • End to end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey
  • Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction.
  • Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data.
  • Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality.
  • Provide support to DevOps teams working at all stages of a product or service release/change with a strong customer focus and end to end journeys, ensuring they have an excellent domain knowledge.
  • Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
  • Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
  • Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Must have working knowledge of Cloud Native technologies: Containers, Docker, Kubernetes; Cloud Service Provider platforms (AWS, GCP) and Hybrid Cloud
  • Must have experience with API ad Microservices development
  • Experience with Infrastructure Automation
  • Experience with Automation and Orchestration tools Ansible/Puppet, Terraform.
  • Automated Testing & Deployments.
  • Any experience with AI and ML.
  • Must have a prior experience and track record delivering with Agile development methodologies
  • Must be able to work with limited direction and high levels of autonomy
  • Must have a strong enabling ethic and demonstrates the ability to support colleagues.
  • Must have solid understanding of Infrastructure technologies and experience in automating them.
  • Must have a broad understanding of the technology businesses to be able to provide adequate support
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills and able to work on multiple projects
  • Aptitude for authentically engaging a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver at pace
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strengthen the understanding of risk management by incorporating risk considerations in all activities
  • Able to form collaborative working arrangements with peers

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Awareness of newer or emerging platforms and concepts
  • Strong leadership skill
