Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in ICT implementation within government systems, including involvement in substantial transformation projects with various governmental and international bodies.
  • Engagement in governmental operations within one or multiple states or at the central level.

Job Description:
The candidate will join the Government and Social Impact (GSI) team at MSC, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality work on assignments according to MSC’s established approaches and frameworks. As a Senior Analyst, they will take charge of tasks or work streams across a range of assignments spanning public finance, digital governance, urban development, urban resilience, or WASH sectors. These projects cater to a diverse clientele, including governments, development agencies, and the private sector, and encompass solutions such as technical assistance, research, policy & advocacy, innovative/catalytic finance, and technological interventions. Alongside engaging in strategic assignments with various donors, the candidate will contribute to business development endeavours by identifying new opportunities, scoping assignments, and crafting proposals and concept notes in support of the team’s objectives.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Business Development-
  • Cultivate connections with current and prospective clients.
  • Proactively nurture client relationships.
  • Create and present proposals to foster business growth, especially within the Practice Group.
  • Represent MSC at conferences and similar events.
  • Contribute as an author or co-author to thematic publications derived from field experiences, such as Focus notes or Briefing notes.
  • Participate actively in marketing efforts and engage in digital media discussions like blogs and forums.
Business Execution:
  • Lead or support in planning and executing medium to large technical assistance projects.
  • Conduct setup and debrief meetings for assignments under their responsibility.
  • Establish rapport with client organization contacts to ensure successful project execution.
  • Thoroughly plan and execute assignments with careful attention to detail.
  • Supervise and aid in the report writing and data analysis process.
  • Review delivered training courses, prepared research papers, developed curriculum, and provided technical assistance to clients.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of MSC’s tool kits and other publications.
Human Capital Development:
  • Conduct "Quality of Delivery"/Feedback assessments with team members post-assignment in accordance with quality control guidelines.
  • Aid in the development of fellow staff members by offering guidance and advice as needed.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and foster mentoring opportunities.
  • Assume responsibility for personal development by acquiring skills and knowledge that contribute to organizational value.

Requirements

Qualifications And Experience:
  • Postgraduate degree in Urban Management, Public Finance, Rural Management, Public Policy, Natural Resource Management, Environment, or a related field.
  • Consideration given to other pertinent professional qualifications aligned with the specified areas of specialisation.
  • Proficient in collaborating with public finance, public policy, and development consulting firms
  • Skilled in working within the realm of public finance, public policy, and development consulting
  • Familiarity with engagements in public finance, public policy, and development consulting firms.
Any Other Requirements:
  • Skilled in collaborating with senior government officials
  • Capable of working with diverse project teams independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
