What will your job be?
As an Applications Engineer, you will be building and improving the products and tools relied upon by both internal engineering teams and customers of Medidata. Quality and standards matter to us - we strive to positively influence the Technology organization through close collaboration and attention to detail.

The Challenges ahead

  • The projects we improve are diverse (data capture, clinical trial management, regulated content management, and core platform services are just a few examples), but our mission remains constant - improve the quality and performance of our applications to delight our users and accelerate innovation in Life Sciences.
  • Able to troubleshoot and debug microservices using distributed systems tracing, NewRelic or SumoLogic and other APMs, & log aggregating and reporting tools
  • Capable of developing useful modules and shared libraries (modules, packages) to solve common problems across projects.
  • Technical competency in using middleware for tracing/observability, authentication/security, and service request & response monitoring
  • Understands and is able to setup and execute automated functional, load/performance and UI tests

Your key success factors

  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.tech with 4 to 8 years of experience in development.
  • Experience in SCALA is mandatory
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript, experience with React a plus
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and technologies a plus  Experience working in a regulated environment or with clinical research processes a plus
  • Write, debug, and deploy frontend and backend code  Drive architecture discussions and design decisions, with a focus on simplicity, maintainability, and scalability
  • Enforce refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, source code control and review practices, in order to create maintainable, understandable code
  • Participate in Agile working practices such as daily stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders; collaborating with testers to ensure quality, and with product managers to turn great ideas into concrete, implementable requirements .Delight our users by driving consistent improvement in our Platform’s usability
