About the Role:

A SRE works as a member of a 24/7 global team. Collecting sufficient data while responding to alerts from monitoring systems to separate noise from actionable alerts and collating information, providing to the next level engineer is a day to day function. Triage all incoming requests and directing them to the right group is critical. Providing support for Level 2 engineers, application owners as needed and being available to assist during incidents is expected. Support Infrastructure and automate repetitive operational functions. The engineer would be part of a follow the sun model team and will be working on shifts based on their time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to critical Application Alerts

  • Maintaining high-quality monitoring tools

  • Start and lead technical troubleshooting sessions

  • Incident Management, Change Management and Release Management.

  • Research and investigate production application defects and provide solutions for resolution

  • Research and investigate production system incidents

  • Assist with creation and tuning of monitoring tools

  • Document and communicate progress on resolving issues

  • Communicate regularly with globally dispersed teams

  • Build relationships with external teams, and resources

  • Follow established team processes for partner communication

  • Assist with testing and validating production applications

  • Quick learner.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Azure and/or AWS

  • Experience with Rundeck/Ansible and Jenkins.

  • Ability to automate small daily repetitive tasks.

  • Experience Developing and maintaining small standalone Apps.

  • Basic Familiarity with LINUX / Windows Operating Systems

  • Clear understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.

  • Experience with Oracle Database query tools, including the ability to write moderately complex SQL queries

  • Understanding of Client/server/database architecture

  • Able to articulate strong stance for product quality and customer satisfaction, balancing business goals and commitments with quality objectives

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work effectively in globally distributed team structure

  • Experience of 2 plus years with server and application monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, SumoLogic, Sensu, etc)
