Purpose of the role


The role will be to carry out all Indirect Tax activities and includes providing back office accounting support to the region, tax reporting and audit support. The Job includes executing all deliverables per SLA & other related tasks on day to day basis. The role will also require supporting Statutory Account preparation & Roll-Forward to meet the Audit requirement and to deal with all queries related to any tax / accounting issue. Job also requires dealing with other functions within and outside India GSC.





Your day to day


Key Accountabilities


  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns as per Indirect tax laws and SOX requirements.
  • To Interact with Counterparts in regional offices in Singapore, Sydney, Atlanta and Branston on regular basis.
  • Recommend process improvements along with implementation after consulting regional teams.
  • Knowledge of Intercompany netting process and clearing foreign exchange fluctuations is preferable.
  • Review of Tax returns and variance analysis
  • Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Communication with Business Support

What we need from you


Required Education, Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge


Education CA /CWA or CA(I)/CWA(I) with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.

Experience CA /CWA or CA(I)/CWA(I) with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience with strong accounting and tax background. Additional knowledge into auditing will be an added advantage. Experience will be required in Direct or Indirect tax / finalization of Accounts, in-depth Accounting experience, General Ledger Accounting, month end closing, P&L Analysis, Balance Sheet review and reconciliations, MIS reporting, possesses excellent analytical skills.


Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Good Knowledge of Accounting Principles, concepts and standards (local and International as applicable) and the ability to apply them to the company’s Accounting practices. Ability to coordinate and interact with other functions/processed for accounting related matters.
  • Expert knowledge of the relevant IHG system-People soft, Essbase system to provide support to other team members on these applications.
  • Expert Knowledge of process and its impact on business and ability to interact with various functions in BSC and Business Support
  • Good understanding of key Financial or Management policies and its impact on accounting process.
  • Good understanding and application of key Control and compliance requirements of the organization and implication of non-compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to support business requirements and identify the reason of tax variance and ensure full accuracy in reviewing the tax calculations, including Trend Analysis, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Month end Closure, etc…
  • Expert Knowledge & experience on process activities, stay current with regular changes in tax laws and its impact on business and applying these skills to various process improvement initiatives.
  • Good understanding and ability to interpret and prepare information for audits and ensure to maintain adequate & appropriate records for internal and external audits in accordance with GAAP, SOX and SAS70 requirements.
  • Possess good communication/presentation skills and overall a pleasing personality. Must be willing & flexible to travel, open for flexible workings hours and shifts.
