Purpose

The Tender Engineer applies their engineering knowledge towards improving and developing skills in electrical engineering, process control, instrumentation, software programming, software configuration, testing, panel construction, terminal automation, new technologies, and more to allow them to review customer requirements via a specification, through well documented processes and data, verbal communications, or direct feedback from sales via processes and procedures. The Tender Engineer will learn under direct supervision and will develop Tender skills by building proficiency within.


Qualifications

Degree in electronics, engineering, or other technical/scientific field (BE / B.Tech. or ME / M.Tech), or equivalency.

  • 15 + Years of experience
  • Basic electrical and electronic principles
  • Basic understanding of Industrial Automation
  • Basic understanding of engineering design/drawing standards including P&IDs, flow sheets, logic drawings, loop drawings, electrical one lines, etc.
  • Basic understanding of Server based systems and software including building/assembly and loading of operating systems, use of application programs (i.e. - Microsoft Server, SQL, etc)
  • Basic understanding of Networking, Networking Protocols and hardware
  • Programming experience in at least one of the following: PLC ladder logic, DCS configuration, Visual Basic, Java, or other programming language
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communications in the English Language
  • Understanding of/and practical use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately
  • Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills
  • Able to interact with Project Execution Engineering personnel to scope out the design of automation projects.
  • Able to interact with Product Development personnel to scope out required customizations
  • Able to interact with Finances personnel to determine project pricing
  • Able to travel from time to time to conduct site surveys of client sites.
  • Able to travel from time to time to attend client demonstrations and technical sales meetings.
