Roles and Responsibilities

Manage a team of top-notch software developers to build products that extend our Software as a Service platform and drive value for our clients.

Provide technical expertise to your team and the entire organization. Our managers have a large say in the technologies and practices of the group and anyone can make a difference.

Stand up for engineering practices that ensure quality products: automated testing, unit testing, agile development, continuous integration, code reviews, and technical design

Coach your team by providing clear career objects, priorities, technical advice, and performance reviews.

Hire and grow world class software developers. Motivate engineers to go above and beyond.

Motivate your team while instilling accountability and keeping a focus on delivering results

Empower your team to use industry best-in-class tools and technologies.

Know and care about what customers want from our service – and be willing to stand up for it.

Work with product managers, user experience designers, test engineers, QA analysts, consultants, and program managers to ensure that we build tools that wow our internal and external clients.

Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed software development sprint plans and release schedules.

Assign and track deliverables to make sure your team meets internal and external deadlines.

Desired Candidate Profile

10+ years of Development Engineering experience in one or more software companies, with a minimum of 3 years of officially being the manager of 5 or more individual contributors.

Strong web application development, testing and deployment experience ideally with a commercially available Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product.

Ability to meaningfully contribute to high level designs as well as conduct code reviews.

Development experience with a modern web application platform, ideally with Python, BigData, Spark.

Development experience with Public cloud based deployments, preferably AWS serverless stack.

Development experience on applications with high data volume is an added advantage.

Expert in object oriented programming and relational database concepts.

3+ years’ experience in agile/SCRUM software development.

Strong verbal, written and team presentation communication skills.

Ability to manage ambiguity with evolving business needs.

Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational navigation skills.

Drive to push major initiatives, product changes, or process improvements across our development organization.

Ability to work in global cross-office teams, including travelling to remote offices as required.

ZS is a global firm; fluency in English is required.
