Short Job Summary


You will work closely with the existing Global Payroll operations team, the tax team, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive standardization and optimization of the global payroll operations. You will have full accountability for the quality of payroll processing globally.


Who you’ll work with

You will be based in our Chennai office as part of McKinseys Finance Shared Service Center and as a member of our global payroll operations team. You will help drive the standardization and optimization of the global payroll operations in partnership with stakeholders from HR, HR Ops, Accounting, Treasury, & Compliance


What you’ll do

You will be the owner of all aspects of Payroll Operations for one or more regions where McKinsey operates including: hiring, training, and employee development; managing group workload and establishing priorities; ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed; managing annual performance targets; creating and monitoring appropriate performance metrics. You will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex outstanding issues with internal and external stakeholders. Overall responsible for Audit compliance and Business controls

The role requires you to manage and improve the payroll operations (performance metrics, internal controls, compliance, automation) as well as to manage regional projects. You will interact with senior stakeholders globally.

You will contribute to the strategic direction of the payroll function based on internal and industry knowledge.

You will be responsible for developing and communicating team vision and goals. You will build scalable processes to recruit, train and develop business professionals to support expansion.

You will lead performance review processes with senior leaders across functions.


Qualification

  • Overall Experience - 12 years or more
  • Experience of leading and managing teams more than 8 years in a captive or outsourced payroll process is a must.
  • Strong vendor management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
