The Marketing Automation Specialist will be responsible for supporting MAP operations of our email channel for the Biosciences Division of the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG). This includes managing the end to end development process of our Marketing Automation campaigns, accurately estimating and tracking program timelines, and executing marketing campaigns within the marketing automation system (Unica Campaign) to help drive lead generation and generate consumable revenue growth. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, a self-starter, a creative thinker, analytical, deadline driven and constantly looking for new opportunities to improve performance and operational efficacy of our Marketing Automation programs. Additionally, the successful candidate must maintain a current understanding of email marketing automation best practices and apply them to the execution of our MAP campaigns in collaboration with the BID Email Marketing team.

This role requires the ability to handle a number of complex projects at any one time, as well as being able to respond quickly to our regional and team requests. The Marketing Automation Specialist will develop a clear understanding of the requirements and objectives of each MAP campaign, be proactive in attitude and supportive to the team at all times. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and modify marketing automation campaigns in the Unica Campaign platform.
  • Ensure that the Unica MAP flowcharts are implemented correctly by conducting thorough testing of new and existing campaigns
  • Maintain the current Sessions and Flowcharts (MAPs) to ensure emails are delivering properly and not ending up in Spam filters.
  • Plan and perform A/B testing to define and execute enhancements to productivity, conversion rates, programs/campaign ROI, and sales growth.
  • Offers thoughtful advice and recommendations to our team regarding Marketing Automation emails and opportunities for contact and optimization.
  • Create campaign execution and project management documents that provide detailed overview of systems integration, steps, and timing.
  • Conduct thorough testing and assure quality assurance of new and existing campaigns.
  • Employ data management and data cleanse best practices to ensure data integrity. This includes working closely with our internal analytics team to ensure MAP reporting is accurate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related major required.
  • Marketer with 4+ years experience in b2c or b2b email and/or mobile marketing.
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience setting up, executing, and measuring Marketing Automation campaigns using Unica Campaign required.
  • Experience working in an Agile Marketing environment highly desirable.
  • 2-3 years experience with a major ESP (Email Service Provider) such as Responsys, Exact Target, Cheetahmail, or IBM Silverpop / Acoustic. Experience with IBM Silverpop / Acoustic or Eloqua a big plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand data sources, data mapping, campaign logic, and campaign performance (ROI analysis and recommendations). Ability to analyze large and complex sets of data from multiple sources (transactional, web analytics, and lead generation). Use data and dashboards to inform our team with keen insights on improving email and contact health KPIs.
  • Proficiency working with structured databases and fluency in SQL required.
  • Knowledge of HTML with hands-on experience with HTML editing tools such as Atom, Sublime, or Dreamweaver.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as part of a team.
