Position Overview:

The Finance Officer position will assist and report to the Manager, Finance and Accounting. Primary responsibilities include assisting in donor management and maintaining all aspects of the organizations finances and accounts. The position will have regular interactions with all state and country office staff. This position requires frequent travel to state offices to review financial reports and records.


Primary Duties and responsibilities:

  • Submit Donor budget proposals in coordination with Dev Team.
  • Prepare Grant Compliance schedule and update on regular basis.
  • Manage donor due diligence process such as providing information on timely basis.
  • Manage Donor Revenue Tracker, Invoices & donor receipts
  • Monthly review of books of accounts as per approved donor budgets and highlight variances on regular basis.
  • Submit Donor Financial Reports such as Budget Vs Actual etc. as per MOU/agreement signed with donor and support to Program and Operation Team on reallocation of savings/underspending.
  • Support preparation of unit wise donor budgets for all locations with INCO budget as basis
  • Provide requisite legal information on real time basis to IN-Development team as well as Operation Team to meet donor requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage various donor audits and responses/ requisite action thereof
  • Travel to state offices for financial review with special emphasis on donor transactions
  • Manage Reporting requirements, within the defined timelines, for various stakeholders, viz., Donors, HQ, Country Management Team, Regulatory Authorities etc.
  • Financial Budgets and Cash Forecasts Implement, analyze, track and ensure alignment with program strategies and HQ requirements
  • Monitoring of INCOs financial transaction data accuracy in book of accounts and generate the monthly reports as per the requirement form month end closure.
  • Focus on strengthening of internal controls, wherever required as per statutory and donor.
  • Facilitate and coordinate various audits viz., statutory, internal, & Global etc.
  • Mentoring and assisting the team in its day-to-day work to ensure quality & timely deliverables.
  • Any other job assigned on need basis to implement accounting and financial guidelines or to meet the reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MastersDegree in commerce or equivalent (accounting, management, etc.) or a Chartered Accountant /CA Inter / ICWA/CS
  • A minimum of five years of experience in NGO Accounting field.
  • Experience in implementing systems and processes would be preferred. Experience of undertaking due diligence of NGOs also preferred.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office applications word, excel and other accounting software
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and English.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in finance related field
  • 5 - 7 years related accounting experience in an International NGO
  • Flexible attitude towards changing priorities and ability to multi-task with an eye for detail.
  • Strong initiative and leadership skills.
  • Working experience in INTACT.
  • Good team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
