The Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI) is the world’s first and only independent non-profit institute devoted to AI for social impact. Our mission is to develop and deploy AI solutions to overcome challenges of societal importance in domains such as health, agriculture, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.

At Wadhwani AI, we use the power of modern artificial intelligence to help solve some of the most challenging problems in the developing world. We believe that AI-based solutions must work within broader systems and programs. To identify the areas in which AI can make a difference, we collaborate closely with our partners such as non-profit organisations, governments, companies, academic and research institutes. We build datasets in collaboration with them, develop and test solutions, deploy, iterate, and scale.

Our current focus areas include Tuberculosis (TB), Maternal and Newborn Child Health (MNCH), Covid19 detection and forecasting, and Cotton farming. In addition to our core institutional funding, we are generously funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Fondation Botnar and USAID for our work in healthcare, and Google.org for our work in agriculture.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Minimum 5 years experience designing and implementing national or state level programs in public health, working with government and/or top-tier nonprofits.
• Experience designing and piloting new interventions (protocols, services, or products).
• Depth in Tuberculosis (TB) and Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH) is a plus.
• Experience writing proposals for top-tier international funding organizations such as the Gates Foundation and Wellcome Trust.
• Experience managing all aspects of program implementation, including hiring.
• Exposure and passion for artificial intelligence. Someone who understands the positive impact of technology on global healthcare.
