NOTICE

Subject: Filling Up Of Five Position(S) For Engagement As Project Scientist-I,
Project Associate-II & Project Associate-I Under A Sponsored Project Taken Up In
The Lab.

Applications are invited online for filling up of position on a purely temporary basis, in the
prescribed proforma. The detail of the Sponsored Project under which engagement is
proposed to be made is as under.

Title of Project:Process for the catalytic dehydration of methanol (MeOH) to dimethyl
ether (DME)

Qualifications

Desirable experience, if any M.Sc. in chemistry from a recognized university or
equivalent with minimum 60% or equivalent. The candidate
must have knowledge on catalyst synthesis,
characterization analytical protocols

reproducibility

Consolidated emoluments per (i) 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through
month (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including

lectureship(Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A
selection process through National level examinations

Minimum prescribed B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Technology or
educational M.Sc in natural Science from a recognized university or
Qualifications equivalent along with 2 years of experience.

Desirable experience, if any M.E./M.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Technology or
M.Sc in chemistry from a recognized university or
equivalent with minimum 60% or equivalent along with 2
years of experience. The candidate must have hands-on
experience in catalyst synthesis, characterization and
analytical protocols. Must have good knowledge in scaling
up of a catalyst synthesis, catalytic process and to perform
H&MB calculations etc. The preference will be given those
candidates who have relevant research experience in
catalysis

acquired data
3. Establishing and validating various analytical protocols
4. Carry over and perform H&MB calculations etc.

educational equivalent
Qualifications

Desirable experience, if any PhD in Chemical Sciences from a recognized university or
equivalent with higher grade. To have the knowledge and

experience in working on various heterogeneous catalysis
problems including synthesis of materials and executing
reactions in all kind of reactors. The preference will be
given those candidates who have relevant research
experience in catalysis.

Job requirement 1. To plan and execute various synthesis methodologies of
materials
2. To monitor and involve in the synthesis of various large
scale catalysts
3. Carry over the large pilot scale reactions
4. Conversion of batch processes to continuous mode
5. Acquired data on laboratory/ pilot plant scale, should be
carried out for commercialization of CSIR-NCL technology.

Consolidated emoluments 56,000/- + HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of
per month experience subject to performance review

The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or
curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project / satisfactory
performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be
purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or
otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right / claim whatsoever, implicit or
explicit, for his / her consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of
same will not entitle candidates to be called f or interview. Where number of applications
received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or
possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening
Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for
interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and
experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice.
Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and
experience in the relevant field on date of advertise.

The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee to be called for interview
would be notified on the website as well as divisional Notice Board on or before
5:00PM 28/07/2021 or the candidates may ascertain the information by contacting Mr.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an
online interview. For online interview URL link will be provided to short listed
candidate later via email on or before 30/07/2021.

Interview will be conducted on 30/07/2021 from 09:30 AM onwards online through a
suitable medium such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx etc.

No interview call letter will be issued separately.
No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will
have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
