Role description:

Looking for a Development Leader to drive large multi-million dollars, multi-disciplinary projects in the field of Telecom Fiber Network Design and Network Data management from a technical solution perspective.

Person should come Consulting/Business Analysis/Telecom Domain Background and also working knowledge of any GIS /Telecom Network technologies with AI/ML/RPA working knowledge

It is a high visibility role where the individual will be empowered to develop vision and strategy on automation & innovation and define the necessary processes, partner with customers and vendors and teams and ensure technical objectives of the projects are achieved which enables in Building & spreading the automation & Innovation across the projects.

Typical projects involve Fiber planning and design engineering and also data management of landbase and telecom network data which are derived from various sources include legacy maps, work order sketch, as-builts, COTS or county land base, LiDAR and other digital or non-digital sources.

Responsibilities

• Play Leadership of the Telecom Automation team to work on the existing services (such as Filed Survey, Fiber High Level plan, Low-Level Network design, As-Build Network Design and BAU Network design, Address Management support and other telecom OSS/Inventory ) and new service offerings (such as Smart FTTx Network, Field Force Automation, DAS/SAED systems etc.) with the existing as well as with prospective customers thru’ technical support, PoCs (proof-of-concept), and capability building efforts, etc.

• Play the role of an Automation champion and work with the team on development of project execution process or solution framework for the various telecom fiber plan and design engineering and its data management projects, and should have knowledge GIS systems such as AutoCAD Map, Smallworld PNI, Telcordia Network Engineer, G/Tech, ArcGIS and QGIS or any equaling products working knowledge

• Work closely with Project /COE SME’s, Service Line SpoC’s and Project Automation Spoc’s to identify automation potential and discovery workshops

• Drive Project specific automations across BU and work closely with IP Teams & operations Office team on execution

• Evaluation of the existing scenario (processes, practices, technologies, applications , and systems) to create an ‘as is’ baseline and visualization of the business requirements as well as the ‘to be’ scenario

• Play a key role in development of proposal preparation in terms of process definition / solution framework, estimation, risk identification, assumptions etc.

• Drive innovation culture in the projects and Recommendation of a possible roadmap (comprising of processes, technologies, applications, and systems) to get to the ‘to be’ scenario

• Be a partner to delivery teams, sales teams and customer and drive resolution of technical challenges during set-up, execution and final delivery

• Consultative interaction with the client about the various possible solutions, zeroing in on the most appropriate solution as part of the solution architecting, and development of the solution architecture

• Coach and mentor team members on technical aspects, technology adoption and groom future technical leaders in the team

• Be a thought leader in this space and help the organization define new services / frameworks / IP’s, Platforms that can be taken to the market

• Identify opportunities for automation by leveraging the latest software and digital technologies

Required skills

• Should have at least 10-15 years of hands-on experience in development and telecom network design and physical inventory data management processes
• Should possess good domain understanding with telecom fixed network assets and experience on handling spatial and non-spatial data
• Good understanding and hands-on knowledge on AutoCAD Map, Smallworld PNI, Telcordia Network Engineer, G/Tech, ArcGIS and QGIS or any equaling products and data models
• Demonstrable experience to be able to assess / refine data management processes
• Should possess good development experience, analytical and problem solving skills
• Should have travelled to customer locations and be able to conduct technical workshops / requirement gathering sessions
• Demonstrable experience in
  • Defining project execution process or solution framework for the various network design and data management projects
  • carry out estimations in terms of schedule and efforts
  • Development of resource plans
• Very good oral and written communication skills. Especially should be able to partner with customers and walk them thru the processes.
• Experience in use and development of application around ESRI, GE Small world and other GIS systems will be important
• Strong collaborator and go getter with high level of ownership
• Should be able to work across different time-zones (Either early morning with Australia or late evening with US Pacific time zone)
• Should be based in Hyderabad, India
• Be able to travel for project discussions, as needed (up to 10% time)
