Contracting Coordinator

Overall Purpose

The Contracting Coordinator is responsible for the full range of administrative support and contracting duties required to keep the Network Management department operational and functioning efficiently and effectively. The coordinator assists all contracting specialists, as well as the Senior Director with any and all duties to ensure our patients have superior access to the highest quality, cost-effective healthcare services.

Education And Experience

High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience in Customer Service. Project Management experience preferred. Minimum of three (3) - five (5) years of experience in high-end Customer Service and related project-management roles. Easily adaptable and willing to learn new software, processes and procedures. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to deal with difficult and high stress situations.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Exposure to procedure interpretation and provider networking. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and external parties. Must have knowledge of variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing contracts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. Excellent organizational skills.

Essential Functions

Maintenance of contract and Health Plan correspondence files (electronic & paper) for Manager and Contract Specialists. Assists in the integration process for acquisition of physician practices as well as associate physicians. Support with written and verbal communications to physicians, payors, etc. Contact physician or payor personnel to provide or obtain information. Follow-up on documentation requested internally or from Physicians and payors. Work collaboratively with department, physician and payor personnel to assist in resolution of issues. Work with Contract Support, Credentialing and Information Management to assist in maintaining the accuracy of contract databases and provider directories. Complete standard forms (e.g. contract notifications, contract summary, contract rate sheets and contract updates) and disseminate to various internal departments to communicate changes in contacts. Contact payors to obtain membership material, payor lists, provider manuals. Supports Manager and Specialists with administrative functions including finalizing, copying, and distributing various types of administrative correspondence.
