About Agronomy and R&D

The unit is responsible for all R&D and agronomic competence within the company. Its objective is to develop and to strengthen Yara’s knowledge regarding Crops, Agronomy, and sustainable agriculture. It also leads the agronomic input and requirements regarding the development of new and innovative Products, Services and Tools.

About the Agronomic Recommendation and Tools team

Within the Agronomy and R&D unit, the Agronomic Recommendation & Tools team takes responsibility for the development of agronomic strategies and know-how for innovative crop management concepts and decision support systems. It scouts emerging technologies in global AgTech and develops tools and algorithms that enable data and science driven decision making, both in professional and smallholder farming. Being responsible for the agronomic quality assurance of all offerings, the team works in close cooperation with Crop & Digital Solutions and the Agronomic network in Yara.

Responsibilities

• Agronomy knowledge is at the core of Yara’s digital solutions. We are looking for an agronomist to be at the forefront of validating the feasibility, desirability and viability of our digital solutions towards smallholder farming communities in India
• Be part of a YARD team that apply design thinking and agile practices to support agronomic recommendations to achieve our goals
• Using your existing strong knowledge and understanding of crops, traditional farming practices & smallholder farmer challenges, your role is to ’localise’ Yara’s existing knowledge bank into actionable insights for farmers
• You will provide the content and strong local guidance to make our solutions both practical, scientifically sound and relevant for Indian farmers
• Working closely with industry stakeholders, local experts and farmers to ensure solutions meet the needs of our users
• You will be actively involved in developing digital farmer solutions from ideation to product roadmap & strategy, service design & user experience and in-field validation, ensuring concepts are fit for release by ground-truthing
• Be part of the editorial strategy so content is consistent and compelling across all delivery stream, and closing the loop by working with data science stream to learn, analyse and iterate user generated content to refine product strategy
• Collaborate with colleagues in YARD team to provide agronomic advice and support for concise digital content delivery consistency to specific solutions team

Profile

• An undergraduate/graduate degree in agriculture or related discipline
• Managed or led at least two AgTech, digital farming or related agricultural digital solutions from concept/MVP through to release
• Capacity to synthesise feedback from multiple stakeholders into clear recommendations for digital solutions
• Analytical thinker, experienced in converting scientific trial outcomes into practical solutions for farmers
