Main Purpose

Job Description

The inventory & payables accountant is responsible for all financial aspects of inventory management for the Channo facility (including reporting, controls & reconciliations, reserve risk analysis, process order management, inventory cashflow planning & management). This role is accountable for payables and taxation of Concentrate operations, as well as completing revenue & NOPBT reporting (including managing sales pricing data) & will act as backup for the FP&A / operations finance accountant, taking ownership of specific MOH budgets. The role also provides project support, across PGCS & BU, initially focused in 2021 with PGCS inventory cashflow management across all locations.

Key Accountabilities

Inventory / COGS
  • Responsibility for financials of inventory management for Channo ($19MM value)
    • Monthly close process: reconciliations & reporting
    • Provide insight, analysis & forecasting of inventory levels in close partnership with supply chain & procurement teams
  • Responsibility for leading communications & adherence to on PepsiCo policies as it relates to Inventory process e.g. Inventory policy
  • Controls: manage cycle / stock count process & valuation adherence
  • Finance Lead on MIRA (Management Inventory Risk assessment) process for Channo – this includes liaising cross functionally with Supply Chain/ Operations and Procurement to ensure all financial analysis is completed and the decision making process on reserves on Inventory is made in a timely and with a business focus, driving to mitigate risks of excess & obsolescence
  • Process order management
    • Usage / yield reporting & analysis, in close partnership with operations team, to identify & recommend areas of improvement & productivity
    • Controls: timely process order closure management
  • Lead external audit of inventory & explanations
Accounts Payable
  • Resolve all Vendor Payment and reconciliation issues with procurement team
  • Invoice verifications for Raw Material, packing Material, OGS and capex
  • Input credit reversal under GST for expired RMPM and FG
  • Preparation of all GST registers & related queries of India BU tax teams
  • Work with Statutory executive to ensure timely filing of GST returns, GST/Excise Audits and sales Tax Assessments
  • Work with SSC & Treasury Team to ensure import payments are timely made and accurately accounted for.
Revenue
  • Prepare NR Reconciliation during Month closing
  • Preparation of NOPBT file during month end
  • Ensure all pricing of FG items on monthly and need basis as per price circular
  • Responsible for preparation of Balance sheet schedules with detailed analysis and qualitative commentary of open items.
FP&A
  • Preparation of monthly and YTD MOH reporting
  • Work with all Budget Holders for MOH Plan Vs actuals Cause of change
  • Prepare MOH Forecasts – Quarterly and AOP with Detailed Cause of Change
  • Ensure Monthly BPC upload for MOH
  • MOH and S&D Month end actual pack preparation and cause of change
Support Global PGCS Agenda & India BU projects:
  • Work as a Navigator to support PGCS Inventory and Cash flow Management Agenda.
  • Work with various PGCS Plants to Prepare and consolidate the Inventory on Monthly basis .
  • Provide comparison of Actual vs target with break up of Inventory into RM/FG/Coded subsets.
  • Work and deep dive with F&A/SCM teams to provide qualitative commentaries on variances.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • CA with 0-2 years of Experience or ICWA with 2-4 years of Experience. Experience Preferably from FMCG industry
  • Any previous Costing & Planning Experience Preferred.
  • Sound Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of Inventory management processes
  • Strong financial skills, excellent communications and problem solving
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Business applications, SAP Experience an advantage
  • Excellent Communication & Influencing Skills to all levels within Organizations, ideally within global multinational working environments
  • Experienced at Analyzing and distilling large amounts of data into meaningful and presentable content to support decision making
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and problem solve quickly in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Track record of academic success and potential for career progression
