ASSOCIATE ENGINEER / LEAD ENGINEER – REPAIR (P1/P2)

Job Description Summary:

• Assess repair feasibility for the reported damage condition and develop detailed repair procedures to return the non-conformance part to airworthiness condition.
• Co-ordinate with Airframer’s, Engine Manufacturers and Suppliers as necessary, to evaluate repair technical data.
• Provide technical disposition to Airline queries related to maintenance and repair of Aerostructures products.
• Manage incoming repair technical queries with aim to provide seamless Customer service and to keep the Aircraft-On-Ground time to minimum.
• Timely response to Airlines
• Address Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requests with quick temporary solution
• Co-ordinate with Spares Sales, Airline/Field Support Managers in resolving Customer issues
• Comply with all US export control requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Mechanical engineering or Aeronautics with 3 to 6 years of experience in similar role. Experience in SRM development, ADLs, MRB teams would also be given preference.
• Demonstrates knowledge on design and construction of all major Aerostructures nacelle product family.
• Demonstrates knowledge on Aircraft Materials, both metallic and composites.
• Demonstrates knowledge of various repair processes that are applicable to metallic and composites aerospace parts such as blending, bushing, doubler, surface treatments, welding, filling, wet-layup, pre-preg, etc.
• Demonstrates knowledge and detailed technical understanding of maintenance, repair, overhaul and regulatory requirements in the commercial aircraft industry.
• Demonstrates knowledge of various inspection methods and common defects to metallic and composite structure.
• Interpretation of Design drawings, Structural Repair Manual, Component Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual etc., and other industry standard specifications.
• Basic understanding of static and fatigue analyses of metallic and composite structures.
• Possess excellent technical writing skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external Customers and be driven to achieve Customer satisfaction.
• Analytical thinking & problem solving skills to identify root causes, secures relevant information and work on solution.
• Effective team player as a part of global aftermarket team and share weekend/holidays support on rotation basis to meet UTAS aftermarket technical service commitment to customers.
• Possess strong sense of ownership.
• Must demonstrate good time management with ability to prioritize and multitask on several work packages concurrently on tight timescales.
