Arbortec Systems Pvt. Ltd. Mohali, is a fully owned subsidiary of Arbor Financial Systems Limited (UK), we provides Order and Portfolio Management Software for hedge funds across Europe and US. We are in a fast-growing business with a great pipeline of business developing and delivering financial software for hedge funds to clients/brokers. We have offices in Chandigarh/Mohali, London and US and potentially looking to spread our operations in Hong Kong.

We are a Software Product company and we follow Agile methodologies and our system has a monthly release cycle to ensure our products are as up to date as possible.


Role: Senior/Lead Business Analyst

Experience: 7+ years

Location: IT Park - Mohali


The Senior Business Analyst will initially be responsible for implementing and managing multiple projects whilst coordinating work with various internal and external teams. Additionally, the candidate will work with other teams to ensure continuity of support and contribute to the general offerings that the OMS team can provide to its clients.


Job Description:

  • This role is for a Senior/Lead Business Analyst to work closely with clients (hedge funds and brokers) on understanding their business requirements plus managing associated support and development tasks.
  • Assistance with client support will be expected. This will help you build relationships with our clients and understand the business further.
  • Requirement gathering / analysis / validation
    Providing solutions to clients with financial knowledge and system knowledge.
  • Process documentation and Preparing Business Requirement Document (BRD) & Functional Requirement Document (FRD).
  • Once you have a good understanding of our system and our clients, you will contribute to its ongoing improvement through functional design and will then develop your project management skills in delivering these changes to the clients.
  • Bridge the gap between the business and technology to effectively design and customize Arbors OMS system that will meet or exceed the expectations of the business users
  • Design, document, develop and test interfaces to and from the OMS/EMS system, pre/post trade compliance systems
  • Design, document, develop and test other customizations to the systems to support the business workflows
  • Analyze current business and operational processes and contribute/implement process improvements
  • Manage/coordinate and implement new instances of Arbors OMS system as well as upgrades to existing instances of Arbors OMS module for its global client base
  • Work directly with business users to gather functional requirements, document business requirements for implementations, upgrades and enhancements
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve to resolve issues reported by the business users and other technology groups.
  • Monitor, manage and motivate team members to perform and achieve individual as well as team goals.
  • Lead and drive the weekly team meetings / conference call and participate in weekly management calls and client calls on a regular basis.
  • Work with various technology teams including server support, networking, access control, etc. to ensure all systems remain stable and available
  • As with any development/implementation teams some weekend work maybe required

Detailed understanding of the following:

  • Good understanding of accounting and financial markets is essential
  • Business Analysis of an Order Management System
  • Technologies of an Order Management System
  • Understanding of Portfolio Management System
  • Understanding of FIX message flow (inbound / outbound)
  • FIX (Financial Information Exchange) Protocol.
  • Scrum & Agile methodologies

Preferred Candidates:

  • Candidate should be results-oriented, team player and self-motivator with a strong initiative to deliver, Strong knowledge of FX, Capital Markets, Money Market and IR Market. Work Experience in Investment Banking, FX Market, Capital Market, Hedge Fund.
  • Strong business analysis, technical, and project management skills
  • Experience in object oriented development - Ideally .NET, SQL
  • Experience in dealing as a client-facing representative
  • Strong ability as a self-starter who can appropriately priorities work and manage time
  • EMS experience is a definite plus
  • Experience managing large projects
  • XML, SQL, Bloomberg, Market Data
  • An understanding of the technical infrastructure that supports various OMS/EMS systems.
