EY Payroll Operate is part of the Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) service offering of EY. Payroll Operate is on a transformational journey. The vision is for EY to become one of the top payroll operate outsourcing service providers globally. EY’s Global Delivery Services (GDS), the shared services arm of EY, is unique amongst the Big4 firms, operating as one global team across multiple countries.

For EY Payroll Operate to achieve its stated vision, the key to its success lies in adding a new, globally industrialized way of working, adopting a central delivery model through our GDS delivery centers. This transformation combined with our in-country compliance capabilities will drive a better client experience whilst creating margin expansion and enable the Payroll Operate growth gaining significant market share for EY in the industry.

The Role:

The hub technology leader in Payroll Operate is responsible for solutioning and implementing key technologies for the Payroll shared services hub to enable seamless delivery of services. The role requires demonstrated leadership abilities in the research, development, implementation, communication, training, maintenance, administration and support all applications and tool-sets in use. Proven capabilities of setting up and driving the IT delivery organization in a Managed Services/ Shared services/ 3rd Party Outsourcing environment.

Work closely with the EY Payroll Technology leadership / EY’s payroll operations in Countries and various other technology groups in EY to execute EY’s vision for Payroll Technology in adopting central technology/ tools and drive technology lead improvements for the delivery organization.

The role will report into the GDS Payroll Operate leader and may have additional functional reporting lines with EY’s Payroll technology leader or alike.

Responsibilities

Product & DevOps:

  • Design, Develop and Deploy key technology solutions for the Payroll Countries delivered through the shared service hub.
  • Complete ownership of the country payroll technologies (including possibly vendor managed software applications – Payroll engines) and ongoing enhancements and maintenance.
  • Develop and/or modification of interfaces (APIs/ Connectors) and/or automation between Global technologies and Country payroll engines.
  • Gain visibility and knowledge of new product enhancements and roadmap in order to drive sustainable solution design and value realization
  • Assist in the build/ buy/ consolidation strategy of country payroll engine improvements.

Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications - External

Project Management:

  • Deliver on projects in a demanding, time sensitive environment and deliver high-quality solutions through the use of cross functional teams and remote resources.
  • Oversee project delivery on each of the hub roadmap workstreams and manage the integration of these workstreams; Liaison with Project Manager to ensure projects have the proper scope, cost, and delivery schedules
  • Communicate and Co-ordinate with multiple business teams (Operations, Process and Quality) and bring out any trade-offs amongst the different business teams. Should work as a team and contribute to the betterment of the overall service delivery.

People Management:

  • Ability to create multi-functional teams for build, deployment and maintenance (BAU) to support industrialized delivery of payroll services.
  • Manage a team of staff and senior professionals to cultivate a collaborative and innovative work environment and deliver on key workstreams

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Experience with HR / Payroll technology solutions and a good understanding of global HRIS / HR / Payroll technology landscape
  • Challenger mindset and questions the status quo – create conducive environment for process improvement and implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong technology background. Engineering or Technology discipline is preferred.
  • Atleast 8-10 years of experience in IT delivery organization in a Managed Services/ Shared services/ 3rd Party Outsourcing environment.
  • Track record in successful project management in the relevant segment/ sector.
