As part of the Global Compliance office, the Trade Compliance Analyst supports the Trade Compliance activities in theGlobal (ASPAC/US/EMEA) regionsand supports the business & functions in preventing and resolving issues that may otherwise result in border delays. This role interacts with the Global Trade Compliance organization and participates in work groups to define the Global Trade Compliance standards for Markem-Imaje. This role is a primary Trade Compliance point of contact providing guidance to the business.

A key responsibility of this role is to help enable the business to fully comply with all relevant trade compliance laws and regulations. Close collaboration with Global Trade Compliance, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, replenishment and Sourcing as well as relevant Government Authorities is required to successfully enable compliance.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to development and on-going maintenance of Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards and procedures, to enable compliance with all relevant trade compliance laws & regulations in the countries.
  • Ensure proper HS classification and Country of Origin determination, Other trade compliance data is made available for all the products
  • Monitor and analyze impacts of changes in local and regional import/export laws and regulations, align business processes with these changes & evolutions
  • Interface with internal and external customers in trade compliance matters, including regulatory agencies
  • Interact with cross functional teams to increase awareness of key strategic developments in the GTC area, collaborates with Global Trade Compliance organization and wider Global Compliance Office
  • Interacts remotely with global team members pertaining to compliance operational requests.
  • Participate in trainings in line with the MI Training Policy to stay updated on relevant trade compliance laws & regulations under all relevant jurisdictions and on changes to the M-I trade compliance policies and procedures, in short, the MI Trade Compliance Program
  • Conduct internal reviews to identify risks. Develop corrective action plans based on findings and follow actions through until complete
  • Maintain auditable standards, prepare and support internal & external audits, in close collaboration with the RTCM and the GCO and working groups
  • Oversee activities relating to Import and Export documentation associated with international shipping
  • Serve as back-up for the Regional Trade Compliance Manager or other Analysts as required and appropriate
  • Report and escalate to the Regional Trade Compliance Manager, the GTC or the Director Trade Compliance/CCO as needed, including but not limited to any issues or potential violations
  • Ensure record keeping compliance in line with the Dover/MI requirements

What you need to have:

  • Working knowledge of the following:
  • o Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
  • o Country of Origin Determination,
  • o Regional import/export regulations,
  • o Free Trade Agreements
  • o ECCN classification and knowledge of export control EAR/EU Dual-Use a plus
  • A team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possess a high energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment that strives to exceed expectations
  • Confident & collaborative in working in cross functional environment
  • Adaptive to Learn, business focused, highly detail oriented/analytical in approach
  • Ability to work well with cross-cultural teams
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
  • SAP user experience is a plus
  • Available to travel <10%
  • Graduation in any Discipline is required for this position, with preference to Logistics, International Trade or related field/equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of working experience in trade compliance.

Specific focus of the role will be defined each year by the RTCM and CCO in cooperation with the incumbent via the performance goals and other projects/ assignments.
