We are looking for a Purchase Manager to buy products and services for our company that are essential for our organization’s day-to-day operations. You will communicate with small business owners to follow up our standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will also review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels.

Purchase Manager responsibilities include evaluating vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery. For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical, communication and persuasion skills to make sure you’re getting the best deals and quality and identifying the most profitable offers. Ultimately, you’ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

1. Research and approach potential suppliers in the remote city

2. Compare and evaluate offers from different sources

3. Negotiate contract terms and prices with supplier or the vendors

4. Communicate with small business owners and convince them to follow our SOPs

5. Track orders and ensure timely delivery

6. Review the quality and quantity of purchased products

7. Maintain records of purchases, invoices, and payments

8. Prepare reports on purchases and costs

9. Monitor material required and place orders as needed

10. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors staff and other departments

11. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices

12. Oversee and supervise employees and all activities of the purchasing department

13. Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies

14. Follow and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures

15. Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay updated with industry trends

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field

2. Proven 10 - 15yrs work experience as a Purchase Manager or a similar role

3. Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices and supply chain procedures

4. Hands-on experience with purchasing software and management systems

5. Solid communication and persuasion skills and ability to interact effectively with small business owners

6. Solid analytical skills and ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses

7. Negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers

8. Organizational and planning skills and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks

9. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

10. Networking and time management skills

11. The ability to identify market trends and make decisions in a high-stress environment

12. The ability to follow client specifications

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
