RELAXED WORK ENVIRONMENT, DEDICATED TEAM, & GROWING COMPANY

Responsible for managing Product Test Engineers and Leads as well as testing processes for our products. A QA Manager typically has a scope of 6-14 direct reports covering 2 to 4 product lines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage employees’ performance
  • Schedule regular one-on-one meetings (at least bi-weekly)
  • Work with employees to set quarterly goals
  • Follow-up on quarterly goal progress monthly
  • Review educational/growth accomplishments; look for ’Lunch & Learn’ ideas to promote employee growth
  • Look for cross-training and backup opportunities
  • Look for ways to improve employee satisfaction, engagement, morale
  • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Communicating job expectations
  • Monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions
  • Enforcing policies and procedures
  • Contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews
  • Implementing productivity, quality, and customer service standards
  • Completing audits and oversight
  • Determining system improvements, identifying and resolving problems and implementing changes
  • Studying trends in and developments in testing and quality management and participating in educational opportunities
  • Participating in professional organizations and reading professional publications
  • Maintaining personal networks
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Process improvement, analyzing information, strategic planning, verbal communication, informing others, emphasizing excellence, attention to detail, thoroughness, dealing with complexity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has background as Associate QA Manager, Lead Product Test Engineer or equivalent role
  • Testing and technical knowledge comes from experience and practical application of skills
  • Needs to have proven experience in leading and goal setting for other PTEs
  • Typical years of experience in software QA testing is 7-12
