INTERNATIONAL COACHING FEDERATION
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Location preferred: India

The role of the Regional Development Manager is to partner with the Regional Development Director and team members to identify regional and local strategies which diversify and strengthen the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) regional position to ensure sustainable growth through membership recruitment and engagement, as well as through chapter leader stakeholder partnerships. The strategies and implementation would be in alignment with the ICF Professional Coaches Family Organization (PCFO) strategic plans and direction set by the PCFO Global Board. Working in partnership with volunteer leadership and professional staff, the candidate is responsible for the operational management of ICF PCFO related regional activities, working to strengthen engagement opportunities for members while implementing strategies through chapters that drive overall member value and satisfaction.
Maintains/builds existing relationships with ICF PCFO stakeholders (individual coaches, volunteers, coach training schools, HR and other business partnerships). Gathers marketplace information on the coaching market and competition and utilizes data to contribute to the creation and implementation of regional strategies for sustainable growth, diversification, and to strengthen ICF’s regional presence through the membership and chapter network. Has the ability and discipline to work remotely with virtual teams across different cultures and languages as well as demonstrate an open, inclusive and global mindset. Ensures regional operations and best practices are in accordance with practices and policies of all ICF PCFO regional teams around the world. Possesses political acumen and diplomacy when prioritizing competing demands and implementing strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate has experience in association management, membership and/or nonprofit organizations. Possesses a member-centric mindset and shall demonstrate entrepreneurial business skills for the growth and development of ICF in the assigned region. This position reports to the Regional Development Director within the assigned region. All functions performed by the Regional Development Manager shall be aligned with the overall strategic plan carried out within parameters established by the ICF PCFO bylaws, strategic plan and annual budget.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional business/management, association management and or not-for-profit management experience.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably proficiency in a second language.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Availability for ~35% travel internationally requiring work on some nights and weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Comfort with working with C-suite individuals in a professional environment.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategy
    • Implements strategies to achieve membership and regional strategic plan goals and objectives that maximize our impact and visibility of ICF in assigned region, monitors internal and external changes in the environment.
    • Implements strategies in accordance with established KPIs appropriate for the region, focusing on ICF membership solutions to positively impact the member experience and ICF growth.
    • Partners with appropriate organizations to promote ICF and our standards.
    • Promotes, enhances and supports the region through global membership initiatives, chapter initiatives, webinars and other communication vehicles such as conferences.
  • Supports a regional performance management process within regional chapters to measure and evaluate progress to goal and drive chapter development.
  • Communication
    • Promotes ICF in the region, including representing ICF at key strategic events and speaking engagements.
    • Provides information to the Regional Development Director to keep them apprised of activities and key developments within the region that impact the overall ICF organization.
    • Maintains effective communication with other ICF PCFO regional leadership and staff.
    • Contributes to member communications to maximize the impact of messages and appeals for their support or participation – may include customization and/or translation.
    • Effectively maintains and utilizes the member database/CRM and maintain accurate records for member interactions and chapter leader engagements.
  • Engage
    • Partners with Regional Development Director to develop data-driven strategies to grow membership; collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources to develop member-centric data-driven strategies to strengthen membership and chapters; directs membership retention/recruitment acquisitions efforts, on a timely basis.
    • Partners with chapter leaders to ensure adherence to governance standards.
    • Utilizes measurement tools to provide reports on metrics and recommends ways to improve on metrics.
    • Works and communicates with volunteers in a responsive and respectful manner, demonstrating sensitivity to diversity and inclusion values across different cultures, and exhibiting effective leadership qualities.
    • Develops a relationship of mutual support with the staff, provides the staff with effective leadership and fosters high staff performance and morale.
  • Leadership
    • Serves as a facilitative leader for volunteer groups, offering recommendations, advice and counsel while consistently recognizing and adhering to the ultimate authority of the Global Boards of Directors of ICF Professional Coaches and ICF Global Enterprise.
    • Maintains oversight of governance of ICF Chapters and volunteers in the assigned region.
    • Maintains a positive and influential leadership profile within the coaching industry.
    • Establishes and develops professional chapter communities through the Regional Leadership System, partnering with local chapter leaders to multiple approaches (e.g., virtual, in-person, forums, project groups, etc.)
    • Maintains accurate chapter records and details of chapter board members and leadership teams including email broadcast lists.

    This position is part of our Regional Team and members of this team around the world operate from home offices. There is an expectation that you will provide a suitable and safe space from which to work participating on regular video calls. Equipment provided to our Regional Support Team: Laptop, monitors, headphones for laptop, black and white printer, mobile phone/reimbursement.
