GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm is looking for software engineers to develop and optimize high and low level DSP framework/application. The software will run in a multi-threaded embedded environment comprised of CPU and DSP processors and hardware blocks. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in both conventional signal processing and neural network theory combined with experience in writing and optimizing embedded DSP software in C/C++.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide critical optimization services to enable high efficiency applications
  • Feedback insights as a critical part of future processor architecture development
  • Work with compiler team to improve efficiency of results from the compiler
  • Provide local expert support for architecture and software ecosystem

Skillset / Experience:

  • Strong math and algorithm background, especially for signal processing
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, including optimizing for cache performance
  • Knowledge of fixed point programming techniques
  • Strong ability to work well in various development environments, including: Python, C, C++, Matlab, Linux
  • Comfortable programming in assembly
  • Strong C programming skills
  • Knowledge on Remote Procedure Calls (RPC)/Inter-Processor Communication (IPC) an advantage
  • No fear of refactoring ugly code
  • Love of unit testing and automation
  • Strong understanding of compiler, linker, loader and other tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a primarily US-based team.
