Senior Manager

This is an important position for Flipkart in the state of Maharashtra. The incumbent of this role will provide overall support to the business on government relations by having influence within the bureaucracy and the Government of Maharashtra. The candidate would be involved in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in Maharashtra like the, CMO, Industries Department, Police or any other law enforcement agencies and bureaucrats.

This role is responsible in mitigating operational risks arising out of any local disruption in the state as well as because of any government orders restricting the business in any way. The candidate will be responsible in strengthening existing relationships in the government and build new and solid relationships in various departments of the government with deeper engagement with them. The incumbent will also be responsible to have strategic tie-ups with the Government and drive CSR in consultation with the director of the region. He will facilitate and expedite licenses and permissions required in the state for existing and new facilities launched in Maharashtra.

In each of these areas there are big immediate deliverables as well as mid to long term strategic objectives

Key Responsibilities:

To develop an excellent working relationship with Government officials.

Mitigate operational risks arising out of local disruption or Government orders impacting busines

Facilitate and expedite requisite licenses and permissions for business

Get Covid related government notifications in real time and apprise the internal stakeholders about the same

Ensure that all the activities of the business are undertaken with full adherence to the compliance framework and practice.

Become a trusted partner of Maharashtra government and industry bodies in all policy matters

Execute strategic tie-ups with the Government of Maharashtra at great speed

Monitor the economic, political, regulatory and legal framework, gathering and analyzing information on developments or changes in policy issues that interest the company in Maharashtra.

Open to pitch in other states in the Region as and when required.

10+ years’ experience in a Government relations role in a highly regulated environment. Experience of working in an organization which works multinationally . Evidence of directly building relationships with external bodies to achieve public policy wins in states. Experience of working in West India is essential . Proficient in Marathi, English and Hindi

Qualification: Degree in Law/ Accounting/ Finance/ Business Administration, MBA or other relevant qualifications

Personnel Qualification and Competencies - Desirable- Excellent relationship building skills, influential presentation capabilities, positive attitude and solution oriented . Ability to communicate clearly on sensitive issues, specifically presentations(should not be misunderstood with Microsoft Powerpoint) skills. Action-oriented, persistent and capable of proposing and implementing change. Hand on & Knowledge of Law and government requirement law and the government requirements.
