Senior System Administrator
Job Description:
Senior Systems Administrator
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of eight years’ experience in IT infrastructure
  • Minimum six years’ experience in system administration with a significant security element
  • Experience that demonstrates expert level administrative knowledge of Linux based operating systems
  • Experience as a system Windows administrator, Active Directory/LDAP, VMWare or other virtualization system, Storage arrays, SAN fabric, or Dell hardware is a plus
  • Familiarity with Windows, UNIX and Linux Operating Systems and associated protocols and system calls with the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in at least one of these areas
  • Expertise with automating complex tasks via scripting languages (Perl, PowerShell, Python, etc..) and/or a configuration management solution is a plus
  • Hands on experience with API calls and SQL queries is a plus
  • Experience administrating Linux server and applications in an Active Directory environment is a plus
  • Experience with system automation tools like Saltstack, Chef, Ansible or similar tools is a plus
  • Experience working in a globally dispersed 24x7 operating environment with strict change controls
  • Ability to work on multiple programs simultaneously, with strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies, organize and schedule work effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a professional environment to executive level and junior level personnel
  • Ability to work and make objective decisions independently
  • Ability to be proactive and demonstrate expert level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with ITSM and ITIL and able to adopt associated processes
  • Familiar with the MS Office tool suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to appropriately present highly technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
Desirable Qualifications:
  • A solid working knowledge of networking technology and protocols, including the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and related protocols and standards
Responsibilities:
  • Administration of Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat and CentOS Servers) managed by GSIRT MS Hosting team.
  • Deployment of new Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat and CentOS Servers) as per requirement
  • Administration and deployment of new AD/LDAP servers.
  • Administration of patching on Linux and Windows servers using SCCM and Landscape.
  • Administration of GSIRT virtualization environment.
  • Administration and management of storage array
  • Administration and management of SAN Switches
  • Remediation of vulnerabilities on GSIRT managed infrastructure devices
  • Use of Shell Scripting, Power Shell and Ansible/Python in automation of current manual work in mission support which can be automated.
