Job Description – Technical Writer

Job Title Location : Technical Writer : Noida, India

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our engineering team.

You will be working in an Agile environment collaborating closely with the engineering team, with minimum supervision.

Your primary role will be to create and edit technical product documentation, such as developer guides, user manuals, installation and configuration guides, API reference manuals, installation manuals, help documents, CRN documents, release notes, and tutorials. You will need to effectively plan, schedule, research, and write.

Define target audience, outline manuals, and write documentation that is technically accurate and conforms to company’s writing style guidelines

Document new features and maintain existing documentation, including online helps and PDFs.

Work closely with developers, product architects, and product owners to create technical documentation with a high focus on clarity, completeness, accuracy, and usability.

Obtain product information from agile meetings, specifications, supplemental material, and discussions with project engineers.

Participate in peer review processes to improve documentation quality.

Contribute to develop and maintain existing documentation processes, standards, checklists, and templates.

Suggest screen labels and error messages with a focus on improving the customer experience (UX).

Create graphics to supplement flow and presentation of the content.

Help in translation and localization processes.

Manage product/component validation according requirements from Product Owner

Develop and maintain automated tests

Ensure product releases delivery with high level quality

Manage support requests within SLA • 4 to 5 years (minimum) as Technical Writer

Proven English writing skills.

Exposure of familiarity with programming languages is not required, but will be a plus.

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with the single-source documentation development methodology.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment and software licensing domain.
  • Good decision-making and planning skills, strong research skills, high attention-to-detail, and team player skills.
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Experience with MadCap Flare, Jira, Confluence, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Visio.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, technical writing, or a related field. Preference to BE/B.Tech/M. Tech/MCA degree holders.
