Job Description Summary Services Commodity Leader – 3rd Party Services will support a team of Business Leaders, Services Directors, and the Global Sourcing Leaders, in the management and execution of a large portfolio of GE and other OEM FSA and Transactional Services contracts for the APAC region.

The Services Commodity Leader will be responsible for Category management of $30M+ Direct Labor buy for over 3000 Wind Turbines and troubleshooting/resolving problems around third party maintenance or major component exchange site labor. He/She will drive the continuous improvement of service commodity and sourcing tools and procedures and Manage the projects related to Continuous Improvement, vendor initiatives, site spend optimization for FSA, Transactional Contracts and Extended Scope Projects.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create roadmap and associated procedures to drive productivity in indirect buying;
  • Review and evaluate supplier pricing using vendor price comparisons to generate recommendations on “best for GE” pricing options for maintenance services, major component exchanges, and top-issue programs;
  • Liaise with potential contractors to interrogate operational and technical specifications;
  • Work with the cross functional leaders such as Service Directors and Service Site Managers to address field operational requirements, equipment delivery and closure operational issues;
  • Support Global Sourcing Leader regarding Services scope around contracts, negotiations, “should costs” and commercial team support;
  • Support Transactional Sales team as required to respond to customer inquiries or opportunities to include, but not limited to, plans for support, timing, pricing and risk mitigation;
  • Locate and contract with training firms to expand our internal Field Service “bench.”
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Key GE Services Stakeholders, Installation Contractors, Suppliers, and other key industry players; and
  • Continuous Improvement; lead cross-functional teams using LEAN principles and tools to improve functionality of products and or process performance, while reducing costs for non-standard or extended scope projects in our supply chain.
  • Developing a strong relationship with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Project Management, Quality and other business Owners to increase adoption and quick implementation of new ideas, processes/procedures to optimize Services Customer Facing problem solving.

Required Qualifications

  • English language at a professional capacity;
  • Bachelors Degree (3 - 4 years) in Business or a related field;
  • Masters Degree or MBA (2 years) in Business Management or a related field; and
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commodity Management, Sourcing or a comparable field.

Desired Characteristics

  • Additional language is desirable (such as Thai, Hindi, other);
  • Track record of dealing with Local Service Providers (Local Service Vendors) within Thailand, Viet Nam, Australia, or India;
  • Exposure to wind turbine technical requirements, preventative maintenance work scopes and typical quantities of materials;
  • Exposure to MNC sourcing processes in a comparable business environment;
  • Familiarity with GE sourcing tools and processes such as Supplier Connect, ComplyWorks and Oracle; and
  • Hands on exposure to wind farm construction or services sites would be highly desirable.
