We are rapidly combining many world leading technologies and teams into the Fusion 360 family. The role is in the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. This team defines and builds the software platform the Fusion 360 family of products is built upon. We are looking for a Software Development Manager who can lead a team of experienced software engineers in fulfilling the mission of the organization which is to drive developer productivity, cross platform device independence and software platform consistency.

Responsibilities

As a Software Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to build and mentor a team of engineers as they make changes to the core Fusion 360 platform and achieve cross platform device independence

You Will
  • Lead a team of 6-8 software engineers working within a Scrum framework on high quality solutions in response to Stakeholder requirements
  • Manage the performance of your team by communicating clear organizational goals and removing the impediments
  • Set and fulfill the engineering hiring plan for the team, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing
  • Inspire and motivate team members to improve productivity and foster creativity while maintaining healthy work-life balance
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing feedback, coaching and tracking the performance. Support individual training and career development
  • Oversee both the software development process and technology to help make the right decisions while driving the improvements and adjustments
  • Work with product managers, product owners, software architects and key stakeholders to draft release plans for product delivery
  • Foster cross-team collaboration to accomplish organizational goals
  • Be the spokesperson for the team and champion their accomplishments with upper management and adjacent teams
  • Be comfortable working with globally distributed peers and team members
  • Be comfortable working with team members who are working in a hybrid-remote model (where not all employees come to the office regularly)
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience programming and developing software in C++
  • 1-3 years of experience leading teams of mid and senior level software engineers
  • Deep understanding of all phases of software development lifecycle from analyzing the needs to delivery of working software
  • Understanding of Agile software development principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated experience managing software development teams responsible for delivering products or services to customers is a plus
  • Experience in managing complex software projects with dependencies to other development teams and timelines is a plus
  • Experience in fast-pace product delivery and agile practices is a plus
  • Cross platform (Windows, OS-X, Linux) software development experience is a plus
  • Project Management Certification is a plus
