The main tasks of the Project Manager would be to allocate our resources in an efficient way to ensure that we will meet our planning. The most important goals would be:

  • Determination of our Capacity: be able to determine how much people are working and when and therefore be able to determine how much work can be finished in a specific sprint;
  • Determine our workload: be able to translate our master planning in a detailed(sprint) planning

This can be achieved by starting to add story points to each ticket that has been created. Only then we are able to assess the precise capability and see if the master planning is truly achievable. Other goals are:

  • Tracking the progress of ticket and making sure that tickets keep moving;
  • Has a pro-active approach in creating (management) reports to visualise the progress that is being made;
  • Organise meetings to ensure that Developers/ Testers know what is expected from them;
  • Make sure that ticket process works efficient and that the information is present in order to manage our workload and capacity;
  • Document our process and pro-actively informs the management of changes;

In order to fulfil this position, the candidate should have the following characteristics:

  • Has a natural seniority;
  • Has excellent planning skills;
  • Has at least 5 years experience in a similar job (in the field of software developing);
  • Has good understanding of how Jira (or similar software tool) works;
  • Isn’t afraid to stir things up. He/she introduces new ways of working and should be able to pursue others to follow;
  • Has good communication skills;
