External Description

  • Responsible for patient management under the care of consultant in-charge in a safe, compassionate and ethical manner
  • Examine the patients, and record the history, in a safe, compassionate and ethical manner and in compliance with Good Medical Practice.
  • Request investigations, and record the results in the medical chart.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds, and record the notes about patient progress and health status.
  • Work as a team leader during the on-call duties to attend all emergency and ward calls and organize patient management together with residents and in consultation with the senior specialist and the consultant in-charge
  • Modify and escalate patient management in an appropriate and timely manner and in consultation with the consultant in-charge.
  • Perform invasive procedures in accordance with the regulations of the Hospital.
  • Delegate duties to and supervise the activities of junior colleagues to provide continuous medical care to patients.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in EMR.
  • Participate in inter-departmental clinical meetings to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Participate and present the results of clinical audit within his area of work.
  • Adhere to quality indicators, patient bylaws, TAT and protocols for the dept.
  • Adhere to prescribed infection control standards
  • Serve on committees as required by the Head of the Department
  • Delegate the responsibility in case of inability to attend meeting.
  • Identify areas of cost reduction and process optimisation
  • Ensure that there are no medico legal issues due to errors and negligence in the dept. In case of such issues, take complete ownership to resolve the matter
  • Ensure to keep abreast with latest developments in the area of specialization and interest, and maintain a track of CME.
  • Participate in research in collaboration with other Departments
  • Initiate, conduct, present and publish research relevant to the subject and area of expertise and requirement of the hospital
  • Impart comprehensive knowledge and training to junior colleagues.
  • Participate through teaching and discussions in the CME activities organized by the department.

Most of our hospitals are NABH accredited with Medcity n Aster Ramesh (Guntur) JCI accredited.

In terms of revenue, we are USD 1.14 Bn company in which India contributes 17% and rest by GCC as of FY’19. Going forward we are also venturing into Pathology business (Aster Labs) by April’2020 n Pharmacy business in Jan ’21 apart from 3 new hospitals in next 3 years in India.

We have Centre of Excellence across various specialties like Neurosciences, Cardiac Sciences, Integrated Liver Care, Orthopaedics, Onco, Gastro, Nephro, etc. in most of our hospitals. In summary, most of our hospitals are tertiary and quaternary care setups. Kerala with 4 hospitals and 1 educational institute forms a cluster, Bangalore with 2 hospitals + 1 hospital in Kolhapur forms another cluster and Andhra+Telangana another cluster.
