The Opportunity

The documentation specialist is a member of the Roche team, who is responsible for writing and managing complete documentation for core product for Roche enterprise SaaS on data visualization and business analytics platform targeting the healthcare industry. The documentation specialist will work with a across organization team for new products and features and own the documentation. He/she will have complete ownership and maintenance of the documentation function.

A seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience. Deals with diverse and often times complex issues, where analysis may require in-depth evaluation of many factors. Exercises judgment in evaluating methods and may determine criteria for obtaining solutions. May coordinate the activities of other employees. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise as well as some key contacts outside area of expertise. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop customer facing professional documentation for the products and content developed.

  • Develop materials to document operational end-to-end process flows.

  • Content needs to be error-free, structured, simple, easy-to-understand and plagiarism-free.

  • Ownership of the complete documentation process.

  • Develop and organize training materials, visual aids, and other materials

  • Maintain Master Document Control Listing and ensure compliance with documentation

  • procedures

  • Provide research assistance to management and assist with other projects on an as needed

  • Train and mentor team members

  • Planned, controlled and directed the document control functions

  • Experience in using Schema ST4 content management system

  • Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the documentation and maintenance of staff competence.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of proven track record for writing and managing end to end documentation in software development environment (preferably in data visualization and analytics products).

  • Hands on current role with excellent technical and content writing skills.

  • Experience in managing documentation process and documentation controls across the organization.

  • Strong experience in Microsoft word.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup-like environment

  • Ability to work with globally distributed and multi-cultural teams.

  • Knowledge of Internationalization, translation process & tools like SDL Passolo & Trados

  • Experience of working in Healthcare or Clinical Laboratory domain

  • High proficiency in English language - both verbal and written.

  • Experience in managing document revisions for multiple versions and in multiple languages

  • Strong knowledge of processes, writing principles, and style guides.

  • Strong team player with good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and respond to changes quickly based on documented results and metrics.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Masters in business administration or equivalent or Master’s degree desired but not mandatory.

Preferred

  • Masters of Science (MS) degree in relevant area of study is preferred.

  • Experience in testing business intelligence/analytics applications or software for multi-tenant enterprise SaaS applications is a big plus

  • Knowledge of Document Management and document capture/image capture systems

  • Experience with Microsoft word

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and thoroughly.

  • Experience in the healthcare business/industry considered a big plus
