Job Description

Great-West Financials Systems Group is looking for highly skilled Systems Administrator to join an established and expanding IT organization that is vital to the growth of our company. Position will have experience administering and implementing a virtualized environment and messaging environment to support our growing infrastructure services. Under general direction of the IT Manager, the system administrator will provide technical support, design, install, configure, maintain and perform system integration to our organization. Troubleshoots and resolves user issues.

· Participates in strategic projects Automate building systems and deploying applications

· Develops, defines technical and functional requirements for implementations and enhancements to complex applications.

· Performs software enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the systems. Troubleshoots complex end user issues. Participates in a 24x7 on call support rotation.

· Train and mentor junior level staff to more effectively responds to end user issues.

· Act as a technical resource for colleagues with less experience.

· Has latitude for un-reviewed action and decision-making.

· Provides direction on virtualization architecture and infrastructure design.

· Products to include VMware vSphere, VMware ESX, ESXi, Citrix XenApp, XenServer and XenDesktop. Provides architecture and design direction on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Server Based Computing with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.

· Troubleshoots complex issues with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environment including NetScaler, NetScaler Gateway and StoreFront.

· Troubleshoots complex issues with VMware vSphere such as Site Recovery Manager, vCenter and ESXi issues.

· Provides innovative ideas for future direction of core technologies and delivery mechanisms Private Cloud, Public Cloud and other technologies that will enhance business deliverables.

· Experience with organizational adoption of Office 365 cloud services (on-premises cloud migration) in support of messaging and collaboration.

· Knowledge and understanding of extending on-premises directory services to Office 365 with strong infrastructure background.

· Researches, recommends hardware and software purchases.

· Schedules and performs complex installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. This includes planning, testing and coordination.

· Assists with Automation Pipelines and Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Jenkins.

· Assists with Powershell scripting and maintenance of scripts

Education:

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience

· Minimum 6-8 years previous relevant systems administration experience required.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

· Demonstrated previous experience supporting host based intrusion detection systems and security software required.

· Specialized licenses/certifications may be required depending on areas supported.)

· Demonstrated knowledge VMWare, Citrix, Exchange, Lync, and mobile system administration.

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with excellent follow up skills, and the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization required.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within teams required.

· Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results required.

· Experience working with outsourced vendors is preferred Ability to work required shifts including weekend, evening, and on-call as necessary required.

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Citrix issues including NetScaler, NetScaler Gateway, StoreFront, XenApp and XenDesktop.

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex VMware vSphere issues including vCenter and Site Recovery Manager.
