As Senior DBA of Database Management organization at Honeywell, you will have opportunity to work with large footprint of various database technologies and make a difference by establishing a solid foundation for innovation, performance, reliability, and scalability working on on-prem and public cloud solutions leveraging multiple database technologies.
You will have opportunity to work on MongoDB, PostgreSQL database development, architecture, and operations that are responsible for setting the database strategy and delivering a scalable and reliable data platform that supports Honeywell’s Digital Platform and Applications. Additionally, you will also participate and provide your guidance for the design and implementation of databases in global high availability and high-performance environments. You will be working with leads to maintain the MongoDB, PostgreSQL database models across all applications, design new solutions at the cutting edge of distributed database technology and will deliver large scale systems that will have an impact on revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Involve on adoption of strategic platforms for PostgreSQL, MongoDB databases - on-premise and Cloud InfrastructureFamiliarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MS SQL.Knowledge of DB2, Sybase, MaxDB is a big plusCollaborate on Database Automation activities to improve process efficiency and risk complianceInstall, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL, MongoDB & MySQL software, implement monitoring and alerting, implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL performance tuning.Fulfills user requests ranging from access control, backup, restore, refresh to non-production to performance tuning.Drive Stability initiatives by proactively reviewing and addressing Database performance and capacity trendsImplement optimal database backup, restore and recovery.Effectively participate and guide - 24x7 operational support shift modelFulfill user requests ranging from User Management, Database Refresh, Performance tuning, Migration.Mentor and guide DBAs blended with young and experienced.Ensure regular maintenance and pro-active remediation of database operational problems.Ready to learn other core database technology like Oracle, open source databases.Stay focused, aggressive, active, led by example, coordinate, and guide the leadership team, and provide value as a strong team player.Design and Implement Disaster Recovery, Replication and High Availability database solutions in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.Lead and manage high severity database issues impacting revenue applications working cross functionally across leads of infrastructure, network, and application teamsEnsure centralized 24x7 Database Monitoring and Auditing Tools in place and effective in operation.Review consistently on the usage of database inventory on-going basis and work on consolidation, migration and deletion of assets associated and ensure savings to IT spendMake sure to delete the vendor unsupported environments and stay in compliance to protect data and systems from any vulnerabilityEffective governance of third-party vendor both onshore and offshoreEngage completely into full lifecycle of Database environment (Plan, Build, Patch, Run)Risk and Control oversight of DB environment ensuring engagement with DB Security and Engineering teamsProvide guidance to Operational Database Support teams to troubleshoot and investigate Business impacting performance issues on need basis.Apply technical expertise to strategize for current/future technological developments and serve as point of contact for technical questionsApply knowledge of concepts and procedures to resolve issuesCreate and maintain processes and documentation for various database activities including architecture, user access, user termination, DB creation, DB migration, DB security, Service Now knowledge etc.,Contribute to formulation of strategies for infrastructure technologies functional areas across various business sectorsEnsure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, evaluate controls to help mitigate negative outcomes through prevention, detection, and correction – SOX/PCI/GDPR/Export compliance etc.,Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Honeywell, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing.Engage in cross-platform training & in bits and bytes sessions on technology trends, create opportunities for career growth, and train the resources across various technologies
Lead a team of technical professionals who are primarily responsible for the 7X24 support of enterprise shared and core infrastructure services. You will ensure operational support and stability in the new cross vendor/platform integrated technologies, including cross platform support and delivery of Database Services. You will provide technical oversight of critical outages. As the Enterprise Database Architect, you will design, and build the future Databases Services infrastructure environments.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred6+ year’s hands-on experience as DBA with Knowledge of PostgreSQL.Must have minimum 4+ years of solid experience of Installation, Design, monitoring, Maintenance of Database including Cross platform Migration.Must have minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with Database Platform including Governance Integration, Security and Operations.Must have a hands-on experience and knowledge of database technology in Azure, and AWS.Must have good hands-on experience of Linux & Windows-based platforms with troubleshooting Knowledge.Good scripting Knowledge – DB, Power Shell, Unix/Shell Scripting.- Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support
- Experience in transforming to and from on premise environment to cloud technology
- Excellent oral, written and collaborative communication skills.
