Why this role?

KONE India is embarking upon an exciting growth phase and this represents an opportunity for you to join our ChennaiKONE India, as a Technical Writer.The purpose of the position is to understand complex technical concepts/procedures, and interpret them into simple understandable content, to gather information from a variety of sources like procedural instructions, engineering drawings, CAD models and subject matter experts.

What will you be doing?

  • Understand complex concepts/procedures
  • Interact with specialists to gather data
  • Read and understand engineering content
  • Modularize and logically structure content
  • Apply simplified writing techniques
  • Ensure quality of content
  • Co-ordinate with stakeholders to get the content approved
  • Publish the content

Are you the one?

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Writing.
  • Preferable an Engineer with Mech/Automobile/Aerospace/Electrical/Electronic Background
  • Good understanding of DDLC
  • Any XML editor, preferably AEM
  • Any content management system
  • Good exposure to Microsoft Office tools
  • Adobe Acrobat professional
  • At least beginner level knowledge on one of the illustration tools

DITA

  • Strong knowledge on DITA, reuse concepts, single souring, multi-channel publishing (exposure to DITA backend is an added advantage)
  • Expert in any of the XML editors. Experience in AEM is an added advantage
  • Solid experience with any industry standard authoring style guide

Content Management System (CMS)

  • Version control and branching
  • Metadata concepts

Engineering & collaboration

  • Should be able to use 3D models and understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to understand technical concepts
  • Should be able to guide Technical Illustrators
