As a Technical Writer at Swimlane, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, online help guides, release notes, and more. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and translate it into accessible and accurate content for our audience.

General Overview:

• Write, format, review, and proof procedural and technical information for Internal & Technical users.
• Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, research, write, and revise documentation.
• Edit existing developer-written content in preparation for publication
• Manage your time and own your work.
• Analyze and consistently improve existing and potential content.
• Understand, contribute to, and maintain Swimlane’s information architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong writing, production, and technical editing skills.
• Very strong analytical skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with

evolving project requirements and priorities.

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field such as computer science or a

focus on English, writing, or communications.

• Minimum 6 to 15 years of related experience required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to

consult with subject matter experts from engineering, support, and product
management.

• Portfolio of work and/or writing samples.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with API documentation.
• Familiarity with working and experimenting with code samples to better understand

the needs of API consumers.
Attention to detail with a creative eye. Ability to efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on published content
from both customers and internal support representatives.

• Passionate about learning and developing.
• Enjoys working as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity.
• Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes.
