1. Role Purpose:


A multi-team Agile coach will empower the organisation to adopt Agile as a culture shift. The Agile coach uses experience and influencing abilities to affect the change from a command-and-control culture to a collaborative one. He works at a tactical level with individual members of Agile teams enhancing their proficiency in executing delivery processes. Agile coach will act as an Agile process champion for multiple teams and enable agility by improving ways of working.


Agile Coach will create and run strategic community level events to increase knowledge in the whole software development capability.


In general, travel to the UK could be one visit every 2 years. This can be at short notice and this frequency is not guaranteed as all travel is based on a clear business or project requirement. A passport is essential.


2. Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • The Agile Coach must educate employees at all levels, including senior, on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work. They provide training sessions and teach valuable skills that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.
  • As a mentor, the Agile Coach is responsible for guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing team members with feedback and means of improvement, catalyzing organizational growth and answering questions. They provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Agile as well as overall organisation growth and improvement.
  • The Agile Coach is responsible for designing a strategy for the organizational adoption of Agile. This includes every stage of adoption, from the introduction of Agile and team member education, to fostering teams and cultures that practice Agile, to sustaining Agile methodologies and continually offering strategies for improvement.
  • The Agile Coach must suggest and implement techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation.
  • Ensure a culture of learning and continuous professional development within the organisation
  • Lead and participate in Civicas innovation initiatives
  • Define and manage the practice vision plan (at 6 and 12 months)

3. Education


  • First class and above grade in BE/BTECH/MCA equivalent degree from a university of UGC accreted.


4. Essential Competencies


Essential:


  • Demonstrating strong knowledge and background with Agile concepts
  • Possessing prior experience (minimum 3 years) coaching teams in Agile adoption as an Agile coach.
  • Deep background in coaching and developing people and agile teams, in influencing behaviour change a track record of supporting cultural change
  • Experience of leading large-scale agile transformation.
  • Experience of coaching other members of staff
  • Experience implementing and governing project management practices at organisation level.
  • Willingness to work in hybrid project management and software development methodologies.
  • Innovative, flexible, self-starter with excellent analytical skills
  • Business change implementation
  • Intellectually strong with an excellent academic record
  • Good presentation skills
  • Experience of working within Global organisations.
  • Excellent team working with exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled facilitator

Desirable

  • Certifications in Scrum and Scaled Agile e.g. Agile at Scale, SAFe, Nexus, Scrum@Scale, LeSS and related techniques e.g. Design Thinking, Lean, derived from implementing agile in different cultures and environments.
