We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Regional Business Manager for the Collections team

Department Overview of Collections

HSBC relies on its Collections teams to work closely with customers who are in financial difficulty, and reach repayment solutions that best meet the needs of individual customers and the bank

Collections function is geographically spread across the globe operating out of onshore & offshore locations also known as GSCs (Global Service Centre)

The Operations Support team is one of the enabling teams in Collections that support Operations team to become more efficient, effective and achieve right outcomes for our customers.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Responsible for headcount management, AOP planning and tracking, work closely with Finance in case of any issues related to billing.
  • Responsible for liaising with the following support teams in India: IT, Finance, Support Services, with the aim of ensuring that the support provided to the department is responsive, cost-effective and high quality.
  • Responsible for providing adequate support in hiring process. Work with recruitment team for taleos, offer roll out process.
  • Responsible for carrying out adhoc/ admin projects under the direction of the Line Manager.
  • Custodian of all Central and regional MI and reporting for GSC Collections.
  • Responsible for leading any migration activity for the department. Work with Migrations & Capacity Management team for ensuring the efficient migration of new work and the production of the required documentation.
  • Compliance/Control - responsible for ensuring that the compliance and control environment is in line with HSBC standards. Work with Onshore & GSC Compliance teams to ensure DTCS and other Compliance documents are in place.
  • Drive Business Continuity strategies per group guidelines in conjunction with the Contingency Risk (CR) teams to ensure robust contingency planning and strategies are in place.
  • Support the Department lead in terms of monitoring and tracking the desk capacity management and implementing the capacity optimization techniques.
  • Drive compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
  • Drive adherence to policies and procedures in line with HSBC standards.
  • Establish quality standards in terms of timeliness of the projects and accuracy of the deliverables.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a group.
  • Ability to be flexible and productive in a fast-paced environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Should have analytical independent thought process and can do attitude towards all the problems needing a solution

Qualifications

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Must be a self-starter and will be required to work under minimal supervision, but with firm deadlines.
  • Graduate / Master’s degree in any discipline with 7-8 years of work experience.
  • Fluency in MS Excel, Power Point and Word is a must.
  • Excellent skills in visual representation of business updates for senior management.
  • Outstanding knowledge of banking operations structure and dynamics – functionally, operationally and financially.
  • Strong organizational, project management and planning skills.
  • Assertiveness with the ability to work with others to ensure delivery within the required timelines.
  • Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal, written communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Good understanding of Analytics processes will be an added advantage.
  • The candidate should possess excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Focused, hard-working, results-oriented and a team-player.
