VP- Content & Communication OR Chief Communication Officer

The VP, Content & Communication is responsible for the strategic design, implementation and management of a range of on-line & off-line communication strategies targeting the relevant audience. This will be achieved through a combination of corporate communications, public affairs, press office and e-marketing development communication strategies. This position will report directly to the CEO of the Organization.

Primary Responsibility

• Develop strategic communications planning for marketing content.

• Develop promotions and communications liaising with other departments and the Management Team.

• In conjunction with the web team, create, adapt, improve and optimize web communication for SEO and organic and keyword search

• Manage the corporate branding

• Develop/maintain social media profiles and quality content on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn & others.

• Manage PR and press relations

• Assist in the preparation and drafting of various communications (email, social media, blogs, etc. …)

Communication

• Ultimately, the job of the VP, Content & Communication is to think like a publisher/journalist, leading the development of content initiatives in all forms to drive new and current business.

• Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, video, print and in-person

• Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must.

• Supervising writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.

• Manage and develop blogging strategy, Grow our subscriber base

• Work with designers, product marketing, sales, and external influencers and other industry experts

• Adhere with the internal policies and procedures

• Integration of content activities within traditional marketing campaigns.

• Leading content development through a cross-platform content strategy.

• Conducting ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handle analytics (or supervise those who do) and make recommendations based on those results.

• Working with owners of particular content to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals.

• Developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real time implementation of content strategies.

• Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that leads to critical behavioral metrics.

• Establishing workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content. Work with technical team to implement an appropriate CMS (Content Management System).

• Ensuring consistent global experience and implement appropriate localization/translation strategies

• Participation in the hiring and supervising of content/story leaders in all content verticals.

Marketing Communications

• Developing and executing a results-driven, multi-platform communications strategy and plan.

• Creating and managing all marketing materials and collateral in line with brand direction

• Implementing online marketing activities including Social Media, SEO/SEM, demand generation, leads generation, etc.

• Creation of a strategy for developing SMS/MMS outreach and advertising, apps, etc. as needed.

• Tracking effectiveness of various campaigns and course correcting as required

• Managing communications spend and working with vendors and agencies, to create and/or localize communications and marketing activities and develop supporting assets

• Leading the planning and implementation of PR and initiatives related to the brand

Email marketing and Inbound marketing management

• Email marketing and Inbound marketing management

• Email campaign development and implementation

• Manage inbound marketing system, including campaign development and data analysis

• Develop compelling Patient content

• Design and deliver emails

• Craft email campaigns

Social Media Communication

• Optimize print, social media and blog campaigns to generate interaction, brand exposure, and sales

• Identify appropriate print and social media channels for targeted campaigns

• Transform content to ensure easy sharing with social networks

• Continue to build and maintain strong online reputation

• Manage the “facilitation” of key social media

• Develop and implement audience response to common complaints and a process in which they are resolved and communicated

• Managing content across all platforms, including social media. Writing, editing and proofreading content.

• Creating and leading content for Advertising & Marketing Communication. Managing video production with allied professionals.

• Making creative presentations to clients and liaising with them as required.

Creative

• Overviewing the creatives of DTP,, graphic designers, Photographers, Video Editors and content-allied professionals.

• Approving the design going live on the company platform

• Creative understanding for Offline and Online designs

Team Management

• Performance and operational management of team working across multiple programmes

• Inspiring, motivating and supporting staff so that they are thinking and acting at their best, delivering high quality work, working as an effective team and meeting organisational and individual objectives.

• Support the professional development of the team to continuously develop skills and expertise and support career development aspirations.

• Coordinate (and in some cases manage) the work of external communication consultants and identify new consultants with additional expertise

• Providing editorial, creative and technical support to team members. Brainstorming with team members to develop new ideas.

• Conducting periodic competitive audits. Supervising the maintenance of content inventories and matrices.

General

• Contribute to the overall development, strategies and plans.

• Ensure the values of participation, partnership, sustainability, social responsibility, cost effectiveness, transparency and accountability are reflected in your work.

• Any other responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time

Key Requirements

• You have prior experience in a similar role.

• Proven design/creative team management capabilities

• Expert in Performance Marketing, SEO and Brand Experience

• Managed Creative/Communication team of over 100 people

• Hands-on experience with inbound marketing systems, and familiarity with marketing automation practices

• Strong knowledge of content development and SEM.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

• Copywriting and copyediting

• Strong working knowledge of HTML, Email Campaign systems, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram;

• Highly motivated, quick-learner, self-starter in marketing, communications and/or technical areas

• A strong network of PR and media contacts would be highly advantageous.

• You have exceptional verbal & written communication skills.

• You have a high level of attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

• You have excellent interpersonal skills and are adept at building relationships with different stakeholders.
