A Community Content Moderator upholds Bungie’s Code of Conduct by monitoring and moderating user-generated content across all Bungie-owned channels while collaborating with volunteer community moderators. This role is a part of the Player Support Team, whose mission is to keep the players of Destiny connected and informed by diagnosing issues, collaborating with developers, and advocating for players.

Responsibilities
  • Shield our community from content that violates Bungie policies.
  • Use content moderation tools to manage all Bungie-owned channels where users can generate content, including forums, community creations, LFG, Bungie streams, and more.
  • Moderate user-generated content in Bungie’s games, including Bungie Names, Destiny clans, and more.
  • Take action on accounts in accordance with Bungie standards and the Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to volunteer moderators across all Bungie communication channels.
  • Maintain community volunteer standards and identify new volunteers.
  • Disseminate information to volunteer community moderators concerning active issues and issue resolutions.
  • Use data collection techniques to identify trends and escalate to proper internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with development teams to help with new tools and policies that can be utilized internally and/or by volunteer moderators.
  • Maintain open communication with internal teams and external partners.
  • Summarize and escalate complex issues to internal teams and external partners.
  • Create and manage bug reports through internal issue and task tracking software
  • Assist development teams in investigating community reported issues.
  • Collaborate with developers to help find solutions for tooling issues.
  • Maintain support presence during all deployment and launch windows, including extended hours during major event launches.
  • Collaborate with game and website security teams to provide a community perspective on policies and actions.
  • Maintain external and internal moderation training material and guides.
  • Create and present regular reports on moderation systems as well as volunteer health and progress.
  • Advocate for user experience improvements that make Bungie products a trusted place for the community to interact.
Required Skills
  • 2+ years Experience in moderating community forums, streams, or other spaces
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary software development teams
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to provide actionable insights
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Ability to drive for consensus in a group of varied skilled sets
  • Ability to work through disruptive or objectionable content
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience with Jira, TFS, Excel, and HTML
  • Experience in managing a web forum or online community
  • Experience in technical writing or social media communications
  • Experience writing and managing community code of conduct and safety guides
  • Familiarity with the Destiny player experience
  • Passion for curating positive community spaces
Most Bungie employees and contractors will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective employees located outside of CA, FL, IL, NC, OR, TX, or WA will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date.
