The OP&A team is responsible for financial planning & analysis, oversight and coordination of location strategy and real estate, and organization optimization initiatives reporting for Firmwide/Corporate Risk and CCOR (Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk).

The financial planning and analysis group manages the financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting of expenses and headcount for the Firmwide Risk and CCOR sectors. This role will specifically focus on the CCOR sector. CCOR maintains oversight of the firm’s compliance, conduct and operational risk management activities. They are responsible for the design and execution of the CCOR program, which consists of the second line of defense’s responsibilities in managing the firm’s compliance, conduct, and operational risk.

The OP&A Associate role provides support for reporting and analysis on key performance metrics, including direct/indirect expenses, headcount, allocations to front office LOB’s, and budgeting / forecasting. The position will require partnering with CCOR business managers to provide transparency around their expense base. The role requires someone who has good analytical and organizational skills, can consolidate and produce different views of data, and is solutions oriented. This role will include coverage of specific CCOR stripes as well as supporting the OP&A team covering the EMEA and APAC CCOR teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analysis and Reporting - Analyze performance and forecasts for direct and indirect expenses for CCOR; includes expense and headcount variance explanations, trend analysis, and monthly forecast updates
  • Annual Financial Planning - complete the annual plan processes, including run rate analysis, expense savings opportunities and allocation methodology
  • Allocations - work with CCOR managers to identify, measure, and define allocation methodologies for services provided to LOB’s; analyze allocation reports for material variances to plan
  • Month-End Close - complete monthly financial close, including management reporting adjustments, forecast/outlook, and General Ledger review and investigations
  • Financial Reference Data - ensure that the cost center hierarchy for CCOR complies with legal entity requirements and is consistent with reporting expectations
  • Client Partnership - partnering with business leads to understand risks and opportunities, trends, future impacts and provide conclusions drawn from such
  • Ad hoc Reporting - Key business indicators and metrics reporting
  • Automation/Process Improvements - identify ongoing process improvements and automation opportunities
Skills/Qualifications
  • Finance or Accounting undergraduate degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of related work experience - prior P&A experience a plus
  • Advanced analytical skills; Can demonstrate the ability to think strategically, initiate change, and work towards continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills - role will require regular interaction with CCOR management & staff, Corporate Finance P&A Teams
  • Self-motivated individual that demonstrates initiative and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong partnership skills
  • Computer literacy skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Hyperion/Essbase, SAP) and technical adaptability
  • Intelligent Automation skills (Qlik, Tableau, Alteryx) a plus
