Mission Statement :The Medical Foundation Headrole leads the creation and execution of focused medical plans to deliver on the medical Foundation brands/portfolio strategy.

The Medical Foundation Headwill lead the Local Gen Meds medical team to provide strategic direction, which is aligned with Foundation business and regional/global medical foundation. They will work closely with the Local Foundation team, Support functions, External stakeholders: medical experts, medical societies, institutions, pharmacy groups, regulatory authorities when applicable.

The Medical Foundation Head’s main objectives are related to / include but are not limited to:

  • Provide medical and scientific support across Sanofi’s Gen Meds Foundation portfolio
  • Successfully manage the Foundation portfolio, in both optimization and excellence in execution of medical tactics, including customer engagement activities in the era of digital transformation
  • Provide continuous evaluation of the medical value of the Foundation Medicines portfolio
  • Drive medical content strategy aligned with Foundation portfolio
  • Be the internal and external contact for medical and scientific communities for the Foundation portfolio

The Foundation medical head, will be empowered to innovate our business approaches by promoting an entrepreneurial mindset and developing new capabilities and ways of working that will enhance our cultural and business transformation. Foundation will be your Play to Win accelerator, career booster and development platform.

The Foundation medical head, will be one-point interface for Foundation Business in the local leadership and for global leadership of Foundation. Seats relevant Country committees, participates and contributes to transversal topics

Duties & Responsibilities

Medical management

  • Industry leading creation and delivery of medical plans and input in overall brand plans
  • Drive medical team team contribution through effective transversal collaboration within brand teams
  • Patient insights guiding organizational choices that realize the synergy between patients’ health and commercial success, and identifying innovative opportunities/solutions;
  • Ensuring that the broad range of Sanofi programs and promotional activities are undertaken in the spirit of Sanofi polices and the country laws.
  • Acts as the local medical lead for Sanofi sponsored clinical studies in the Foundation business.
  • Collaborates with Pharmacovigilance and Medical operations teams in overseeing PV and medical information
  • Ensuring appropriate scientific and medical compliance, governance and risk management within the framework of optimized patient centered risk/benefit in the responsible product(s) or tasks
  • Provides risk management strategies for concerned products in line with approved global / local strategy, by analyzing medical unmet needs and facilitate cross functional collaboration to meet Sanofi global high standard RMM (risk mitigation measures) plan of providing patient right message of product benefit and mitigate risk impact for both patient and Sanofi
  • Supervises & tracks locally the appropriate implementation of risk minimization activities beyond routine for concerned products, and develop smart & efficient methodology with leveraging and communicating cross functional team
  • Align processes to drive cost-effective deliverables, developing a cohesive financial plan, and following the budgeted expenses in order to minimize variation between budgeted and actual expenditure. Plan, utilize and monitor the budget for local clinical trials, the team and travel in order to maximize return on investment.
  • Identify & nurture good talent, provide resources, create learning opportunities, provide feedback to all employees’ across the function in order to ensure continuous learning and development of team members.

Portfolio management

  • Strategic thinking for portfolio development with a focus on efficient portfolio growth and simplification
  • Successful management of the Foundation portfolio by defining and executing portfolio strategy (e.g. pruning, divestments, GTM (Go To Market) partnerships)
  • Management of the Foundation portfolio for the regulatory submissions of regular updates ( PBRER’s, ACO’s) and Clinical Dossiers ( eg upgrading, label enhancements)

Customer engagement

  • Oversee implementation of training and education events for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop innovative omnichannel and digital dissemination plan for Foundation programs, leveraging the global content factory and content localization hub, collaboration across teams, and the various customer engagement models and channels
  • You are the internal and external contact for medical inquiries

COUNTRY/REGIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Provide inspirational Leadership and focus to the India Medical Affairs Foundation team to assure delivery of the India Foundation Medical Affairs priorities, enhance an organizational culture which enables and fosters teamwork, cultivate team engagement and performance by attracting, developing and retaining talents.

Identify, get to know, and animate a community of talents to participate to communities and get exposed outside India.

Interact with government agencies, professional associations, and the healthcare community in mattes in relation to Foundation portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline. M.B.B.S. + Postgraduate in Medical Science and/or Management qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. 3+ years’ experience managing people and/or departments.
  • Must have a strong scientific background
  • Must possess ethical standards of the highest level and have the knowledge and ability to comply with all relevant ethical, regulatory, and legal standards.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills as well as influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be fluent in English and possess superb written and verbal communication skills
