JOB PURPOSE:

To perform a variety of quality duties related to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment supporting the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS). This role is fundamentally a reactive quality role responding to daily issues found in the manufacturing facility.

JOBDUTIES:

• Quality Planning documents creation for Machining /Assy /Fabrication work - Simple
• Perform preparatory work for quality planning
• Develop detailed understanding of Drawings and 3D Models
• Follow FTR and iPQMS procedures for the routine work
• Use readily available clear and direct references for creating Quality documents
• Develop proficiency for quality planning process for different commodities by learning from peers and reference material
• Adhere to Quality and velocity for the delivered projects
• Gain an understanding of Caterpillar’s business, products, systems, and procedures;
• learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic engineering knowledge; and Present new ideas and approaches, creative / innovative ideas
• Provide assistance to a project team or others in the work group.
• Manages business partners for transformational projects.

Technical Competencies:

• Basic Understanding of the six phases of the APQP Process and their inputs and outputs
• Print Reading -Able to read and understand the information shown on Engineering Drawings
• "Understand how CAV (Customer Acceptance Validation ) aligns
• Incoming Quality Audit
• Quality gates and In Process Validation (IPV)
• Internal Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
• Pre Delivery Audit (PDA)"
• Understand the scope of CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System),including quality policies, the inputs, processes & outputs required for quality compliance. Understand the 9 clauses of CQMS and understand the key CQMS Metrics
• Understand the basics of FMEA process and the ability to deploy a process FMEA &Control Plan
• Quality Gates and In Process Validation (IPV)
• IQA (In coming Quality Audit)
• Understand Plan -Do -Check -Act methodology, Prevent, Control & Correct cycle, and how these are applied within the CQMS
• Understands the alignment between the APQP and PPAP processes. Be able to recognize the elements of PPAP as well as notification and level requirements and PPAP dispositions.
• Creation of SFMEA document with risk mitigation plan
