Overview of Market & Client Insights Team :

The team’s objective is to provide research and insights regarding markets, clients, prospects, industries and competitors to drive revenue growth through more effective sales, marketing, and innovation.

Job Overview :

The team provides a range of services from information access and delivery (utilizing several third-party research subscriptions and Willis Towers Watson proprietary research and data) to secondary research for more complex requests requiring multiple sources and potentially multiple methodologies.

The Senior Analyst would be responsible for executing a diverse range of tasks to support research and consulting activities of the firm. He/she will be expected to provide data and information support to consultants globally as well as assist in consulting support and other research projects from time to time. The role requires a combination of strong research and analytical skills, communications skills, and business acumen in order to participate in and lead research projects as well as engage with our (internal) clients.

Key deliverables include market assessments, company and industry profiles, competitor and competitive analyses, and market trend reports.

Main tasks include:

  • Bloomberg specialist who can handle requests related to extracting financial and other information from the database
  • Data Collation and information gathering on core projects
  • Use other specialized databases to support research and information needs of consultants as well as the internal MCI team. This also entails adequate use of WTW subscriptions
  • Ensure timely response and high stakeholder engagement
  • Build effective collaborative relationships with colleagues and managers. Coordinate regularly with multiple project teams within MCI
  • Handle varied market research requests including company and competitor research, from time to time based on available capacity

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct secondary market research including industry, company and competitor research
    • Development of PPT reports documenting study scope, methodologies, key research findings and data analysis, as needed
  • Develop complete understanding of existing subscriptions and be proficient in using external research sources, e.g. Hoovers, Factiva, S&P, AM Best etc.
  • Delivering high quality output through constructive review and feedback
  • Basic project management as needed, including managing of timeline and milestones.
  • Train new colleagues that join the team on rotational basis
  • Develop and maintain strong, ongoing, productive working relationship with stakeholders for the provision of Market & Client Insights (MCI) support services
    • Participate in regular telephone discussions, meetings and email communications to understand and interpret research requirements, to communicate project status, and to deliver products and services ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

Key requirements:

  • Ability to comprehend and extract essential information from varied data sources
  • Strategic acumen to overlay the implications of research findings on WTW business
  • Ability to develop recommendations and insights based on research findings and represent as graphs, reports and presentations, as needed.
  • Knowledge of other information research tools such as Bloomberg, Factiva, D&B Hoovers etc.
  • Fair statistical and excel-based analysis for projects and reports
  • Familiar with financial statements of companies and well-versed with interpretation of company financials
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with languages like Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, etc. would be an added advantage
  • Commitment to long-term development with flexibility to handle multiple tasks and tight timelines
  • Ability to think logically and proactively to identify challenges and solve problems independently

Qualifications:

  • University degree in any stream
  • An outstanding academic record with exposure to Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research or Finance would be preferable
  • About 3-4 years of consultative research experience in an in-house research team OR with a Captive/KPO firm OR with a third-party customized research agency serving multiple clients and experience in the B2B arena.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Industry and its dynamics OR sectors like Oil and Gas, Construction, Aerospace, Marine, etc. OR segments like Talents & Rewards, Human Capital Benefits and Risk & Broking would be an added advantage.
