Work you’ll do

In the US Innovation team, you will work as a team member in executing corporate strategy projects focused on transforming what the firm offers, how we deliver those offerings, and how we operate. The team member will also be responsible for assisting with the development/experimentation of new digital products across Deloitte’s four businesses: Audit, Tax, Consulting, or Advisory, or may be focused on new services and businesses, channels (e.g., clients, industry sectors, geographies) or services that cross functional business lines.

The professional will interact with leaders in the company and will assist in various special, top priority projects with potential to significantly impact our organization.

Your primary responsibilities include:
I. Strategy and Analysis

• Bring in new thinking, question existing ways, and push boundaries to solve business problems
• Apply logic and structure to solve ambiguous problems
• Research and establish analytical frameworks and conduct complex business analyses
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as assessing the effectiveness of current processes and identify opportunities for transformation
• Collaborate and develop effective working relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders
• Develop executive level presentations and reports

II. New product experimentation

• Participate and collaborate with internal, external clients and vendors for Proof of Concept (POC) development, delivery and own workstreams
• Be open to experiment, conceptualize, and design solutions/POC with a fail fast approach
• Own and deliver presentations and product demonstrations for product portfolio
• Lead and deliver research collaterals based on new technologies, products, and vendors
• Develop and curate strategic technology assessment framework
• Evaluate and advise in techno-functional capacity on new technologies, products, and vendors
• Execute multiple project work streams, including opportunity identification, ideation, stakeholder communication, technology vendor management and delivery

The team

The US Innovation group supports Deloitte’s strategic innovation goals. The group focuses on sensing emerging trends; incubating breakthrough technologies and solutions; driving and orchestrating the firm’s digital transformation; and communicating to our people and the marketplace the vision and impact of the firm’s innovation and digital transformation efforts. The group also works with firm leaders to help set, shape, achieve – and then refresh - innovation goals.

The US Innovation group is unique in Deloitte. Its focus is to rapidly identify, shape, experiment and incubate new business opportunities that leverage leading edge technologies. We operate as a cross-between an applied R&D (emphasis on Development), venture capital investor and a start-up. All team members are respected and called upon for their creativity, insights, and ability to make an impact, regardless of title or tenure. And most are challenged to work on multiple projects at one time. The work is intense, fast-moving, and highly impactful; but most importantly fun and rewarding for those with passion for innovation.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of digital transformation experience, including executing and owning workstreams for innovation/strategy projects and programs with multiple stakeholders
• Any Graduation Degree (Engineering/Commerce preferred)
• Professional qualification (reputed institutes preferred):

o Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Engineering or related field OR
o MBA

• Knowledge or certification in artificial intelligence, automation, semantic analytics, visualization technologies is a plus

Work Location: Mumbai
Work Timings: 11am to 8pm

Skills required
I. Strategy and Analysis

• Prior experience in strategy development for top tier companies and/or with top strategy consultancy
• Outstanding analytical (qualitative and quantitative), research, and presentation skills
• Ability to think creatively and apply logical structuring to complex problems
• Ability to synthesize large sets of information, extract insights, and develop recommendations
• Systems thinking skills (able to connect dots across different concepts to generate new insights)
• Ability to think orthogonally to prevailing views and comfort with challenging orthodoxies
• Excellent strategic thinking and knowledge of strategy development, competitive strategy, and scenario planning
• Outstanding core consulting skills – i.e. analytical, primary, and secondary research, presentation, and modelling (superior PowerPoint and Excel), including logical structuring and storytelling
• Ability to synthesize large sets of data and integrate into meaningful and intuitive reports and recommendations

II. New product experimentation

• Envision the current process and re-imagine the tech enabled to-be process by creating meaningful hypothesis
• Should have the ability to create digital roadmap presentations
• Research, evaluate and advise on new technologies, vendors, and products
• Should be able to create matrices to compare available technology vendors and technology product
• Translate new ideas/use cases into screen designs and solutions
• Drive Proof of Concept design and development by working with technology vendors

III. Other skills

• Self-accountable for ensuring that results are achieved; demonstrate a strong orientation towards achievement; deliver work in a timely matter with minimal errors and guidance
• Strong technical skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and supporting technologies like Teams and Zoom)
• Strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and act in utmost confidentiality with sensitive information
• Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement
