The Role Responsibilities

The Analyst - Developer is a part of the ServiceNow Centre of Excellence (COE) that focuses on assisting with the plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. Using both business and technical skills, the Developer works collaboratively with the scrum team to meet the Business objectives. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Strategy

  • Understand, analyse and document user requirements and specifications for business, systems and processes including integration with IT
  • Leverages ITIL best practices and industry application concepts to facilitate process / tool (ServiceNow) based discussions with stakeholders to drive outcome
  • Collaborate in an agile, multi-disciplinary team
  • Operate in a DevOps delivery model
  • Understand overall architecture and is able to give inputs

Business

  • Document business use cases, testing plans and procedures in an agile environment
  • Translate requirements into workable systems, using best practice solutions

Processes

  • Build and unit test the required functionality
  • Participate in end-to-end testing of the functionality
  • Create relevant documentation
  • Support and maintain the built solution
  • Support the transition to the production support team

  • Actively listens, respecting others point of view and takes ownership of contributing the required input whilst demonstrating strong communication skills (written, interpersonal and presentational) appropriate for both a Business and Technical audience, clarifying own understanding and that of others
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand and develop the high-level approach and goals
  • Work with stakeholders to design/develop an appropriate data architecture and technical process flow

Risk Management

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Governance

  • Assist to perform day to day administration of the ServiceNow tool

Assist to maintain the integrity of the ServiceNow tool across production and non-production environments, including:

  • Manage systems changes through established change request process &provide status reports to the relevant parties.
  • Respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
  • Conduct root cause analysis & implement pro-active measures. Monitor effectiveness of implemented measures.
  • Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability.
  • Troubleshooting patch / release management issues/activities

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Lead the Enterprise Technology (ET) ServiceNow COE to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

  • Global – ITSM/ITOM; GRC; Finance; Legal; HR

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years experience in relevant role
  • Hands-on experience as a Technical Business Analyst working for large organizations in the ITSM – ITOM domain with geographically separated stakeholders
  • Proven experience in ITSM-ITOM projects delivery using ServiceNow Platform
  • Very good understanding of ITIL concepts (preferably certified)
  • Very good understanding of ServiceNow ITSM-ITOM suite of applications (namely, Configuration and Asset Management, Service Catalog and Request Fulfilment, Incident, Service Desk, Change, Release, Knowledge)
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and time management

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Coding skills e.g., Java, JavaScript, Phyton, HTML, CSS, HTTP
  • Good understanding of Agile delivery and SDLC
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow OOTB APIs, ServiceNow best practices
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken)
